There is some coverage on their backs, though not enough to cut down too much on their ability to move quickly. These two are from a D&D game I ran a few years back. We had lots of players and way more NPCs over the course of that game!

Yeah, they're pretty hard core npc's in the game I run. They're bigwigs in the criminal underground, and secret members of an organization that stretches across the land, through many cities and kingdoms.
