Description
Godzilla - King of the monstersZBrush 4, Photoshp CS4, Vue 8 and photography.
the concept of Godzilla here is to create a fat, massive, chunky clumsy, nuclear monster (heisei inspired). I sticked to Godzilla being a dinosaur. If there ever is a species of a marine theropod, that would be his kind. I gave him a massive tail, just for him to swim better and faster and also to balance the heavy body.
The texture is inspired from the millennium G-Suit. I think that is the best skin texture for G. I like the millenium G suit, especially the texture and armor, but the heisei g-suits remain my fave. i really dont know why its my fave, maybe because, of his size and power and for having a very exprssive face, he can actually grin and you will think that he is really angry...
It took me more than 2 weeks to complete this piece, but it took me 1 year to conceptualize and sketch and decide on how he'd look like.

Not exactly my cup of tea, but this is pretty bad ass.
I think we've both made some great contrasts to the usual body types. Usually when someone gives Godzilla a theropod stance, they strip away a lot of his bulk. Here you have kept the sense of mass and it really adds to the character.
On the opposite side of the spectrum, a more traditional stance is usually pot bellied and thunder thighed. I went for an upright Godzilla, but one that was slim and almost anime like.

Love the creation as such and your talent is truly a fact. Only thing that twist my mind is how he's able to stand upright with such a big/massive tail that makes up for at least half his weight. Ah well, I can look past that and enjoy it all. Great work!

thanks Jonathan. the exaggeration of the mass is my way of expression of the mutation. he is nuclear powered, and i picture him moving like a muscular sumo wrestler or marvels juggernaut. appreciate the comment.

but the chunkiness and the fatness is one of the factors i used slightly exaggerate mutation.
