....and I was so proud of myself when it was finished too...
ohhhhhh man. don't even remember what year... i wrote it on the sketch pad it was 2011... eeee why does that not seem like a long time at all
I kind of miss those days actually... i didn't have the skills i have now, but I at least was happy when i had a success. now i never feel any sense of success or accomplishment. I kind of want to scan a lot of my old stuff and show you guys to see how i've changed... it could be a little walk down memory lane.
oh i also always only drew one picture on each page. I don't do that any more, now once page of paper has like... several sketches on it. ahhhh memories. i didn't want to fill up the paper in case that drawing turned out to be a masterpiece to be framed or whatever
oh gawb this was also that horrible horrible time of Ashers character where he was a highschool emo boy... before he became a flamboyant ballet dancer. the change had to be the most dramatic one... i don't even know how it happened. o my cott I have this image of Asher being in an emo phase in highschool now
art and characters are (C) me

Have I ever mentioned how I love the way you draw Lear's ears?

Well the colored tips are adorable and nothings cuter than droopy ears! They look so soft! I just wanna stroke them!

they aren't always droopy, but yeah, her ears are either really frustrating, or really cute

yeah, the improvement is pretty clear to see! just a suggestion, but... maybe your 'slump', or lack of a sense of accomplishment, has to do with not trying to draw different kinds of things? Like maybe a different style or subject matter? Does that make sense or am I way off?

i think some of it has to do with the people and environment i'm in... and a part of me wants to explore my other characters, but usually just reverts back to what is familiar... though i have made some brekathroughs... like i've been drawing animals i never drew before!

Oh my goodness, wow, I love seeing old art! i see a LOT of improvement - though i do like your line-style in the old one, wow but Asher changed a lot lol, I mean a lot! I'm kind of so glad he is no longer an emo! So very very glad!

well thats good cause i have two sketch dumps worth of old art i plan on uploading. well, i used to do really hard lines... before i learned what a pain in the butt that was for erasing mistakes... and plus i think i used a different kind of pencil at the time... probably a harder one.
i'm very glad he's not emo either... though i know what my next inktober picture is going to be now XD I think he's really glad he's changed too.

You HAVE improved a lot! You've got a definite style of your own now! That said, however, I know how you feel about not getting any sense of success or achievement even when it feels like you should (since your skills have improved and stuff). i feel the same way. I technically draw better, but I don't feel as excited to draw anymore and hardly ever feel content with anything anymore. I also used to draw one picture per page. Oh wait...I still do, sometimes. It's a bad habit and a waste of paper. ;T
But ANYWAY, you've improved lots! So keep it up. : )
