I actually think this is my favourite one of your recent painting series. There's so much colour and exploration with angles, like with her hands. Also the skin on her tail appendage kind of looks tight and stretched in a kind of disgusting way which is repulsive but also kind of interesting. Like what's underneath is kind of squashy

I'm realizing that I'm a stronger traditional painter than a digital one, which makes me a little sad :TΒ
but I am very proud of this piece- except for her hands, but oh well.Β

That's nothing to be sad about! With digital you can just pick pre-made colours without having the skill to mix them. You also rely on the undo and erase tools which take away your natural boldness. So those who are better traditionally have more skill in my opinion because they have to know what colour is just right and be confident in their decisions. Also it takes skill to make something traditional have depth. I personally prefer traditional art over digital. But I myself have gotten hooked on digital for its ease, but have sacrificed confidence in my skills and choices. So really, wear your traditional art skills with pride because digital is overrated and lacks character and soul even if it's shiny and bright

it's not that I'm not proud of it, but I just would like to be able to also do digital. because if it's so easy, why am I so bad at it?Β

You're not bad. You just haven't had as much practice as traditional. Think about it, we've been drawing and writing traditionally all our lives, digital is a new skill you have to learn as if you're just learning to draw again.
My first digital pieces were crap. I could only ever scan things in and colour them digitally for years and years

It's still not the same length of time as you've been using traditional mediums, which you learned at a young age when such skills are acquired really fast. The older you get, the more difficult to learn so what might take a kid a few years to pick up, takes us longer. And digital doesn't react the same tactile way as feeling traditional mediums. It's easier only in colour picking and editing, but everything else is basically trying to recreate traditional things without being able to physically feel it. When you use a pencil you adjust the pressure naturally for what effect you want, or the lines you'd like. With digital you have to relearn all of that and it changes for programs and devices, so its all relearning multiple things. I've been drawing all my life and my digital is still not as great as I wish it was, and I honestly doubt it ever will be.

not exactly, I've only seriously started taking up traditional art. I mean they make us do it at school but I guess i've gotten the hang of it because of that. I don't think you have to learn that much with digital except hand eye cooredination. I feel like my most successful digital pieces have been a couple of memes and that one self portrait of the grub thing i did.Β
