well, Lears personality animal is a snail, but the animal she has traits of are a bat, so i like to draw her as a bat. I wouldn't curse her to be a snail, that's awful.ugh, these are so old i'm worried i've uploaded them already.
the last one on the bottom is new though. I just thought it would be funny if Yianis decided to do some snooping, for whatever reason. Lears diary is probably more like a novel than an actual diary. it's most riveting!
she probably would write snippets of fiction and then also write her own thoughts and happenings to record, so he'd have to figure out which is which!
I mean, either AU, OTB or HoH he'd probably be reading it to try and better understand his opposition (Lear). how does one impress this woman?

Bat Lear is so cute! She looks like someone has poked her gently in the right side and is now shuffling away from them. Being a snail would be an awful curse for anyone regardless! I don't believe you've uploaded them before.
Imagine that Lear writes all her entries with alternate aliases for the people in them, so he honestly does think its fiction, regardless of coincidental occurances which sound so familiar. 'I can identify with Lady Remingwey so much, it's almost uncannily frightening. That Earl fellow she's taken to courting reminds me of Lear' (swap genders for extra security)

The most horrifying thing would be (not only does everything view you as a meal) but there's that parasite that goes into snail eyestalks and 'brainwashes' them to go up on the end of leaves to get eaten by birds so it can perpetuate its lifecycle...

the ending chapter was the most screwed up honestly. though there were a few that just... ugh. anyway, in this one this slow kid gets bullied and ends up slowly turning into a snail person. then the kid that bullied him starts turning as well. the other kids release them into the wild to keep them from getting killed and eggs are found later. the teacher smashes them and the chapter ends with him showing symptoms.
the one with the pregnant ladies made me never want to eat mushrooms again too.
the last chapter the main girls little brother turns into a snail person, but they run into these crazy men who have this other guy who's turning into a snail and when he transforms they crawl up into his shell and eat him.

Oh my, I read the umbilical one after you mentioned it, and it was very strange and creepy - though the ending was abrupt. That snail thing is disturbing me, especially the crawling up into his shell and eating him - WHY? The writers of that have some kind of fettish with eating

Why would you read it?! He wrote another series that's equally horrifying but I don't remember it's name. It had these weird robot parasites that would attach themselves with tubes through the mouth and anus. I only flipped through it at a used bookstore like "this style looks suspiciously familiar-OOOOLYCRAP"
