I was talking to some friends about comic layouts. The subject of chapters came up. I have never divided up any of my comics into chapters but I decided this time to give it a shot. I wrote an outline and divided that into chapters. I have already finished the sketch pages for the first chapter and it is 7 pages long. There will be 7 chapters. Now I have a rough idea of how long the comic will be. This will be my biggest work yet if I can finish it. I'm estimating 70 pages!
My longest comic ever was I think 20 pages and never in color. Wow look at all the sevens. I can't help but notice numerical coincidences like that. 7 pages, 7 chapters, possible 70s pages and we were 7th in line to get Fallout 4 
It is one of my fave numbers.So about this cover. Chapter 1 Advent of Fear. I'm quite happy with it. I love how normal Fear turned out. I do feel sorry for him. Poor guy didn't deserve this but I love hurting those I love. Scary Fear gave me a hard time. I don't know why when both of them are so easy for me to draw. Went through 3 sketches before I finally got one I was happy with. You'd think no features would be easier but it wasn't. I don't know why. So what's going on here? Well, I leave that up to you to guess. What do you think is going on? What do you think this first chapter will be like?

Estaba hablando con unos amigos de diseños de comics. Empezamos ha hablar de capitulos. Nunca eh dividido un comic en capitulos pero lo decide hacerlo con este. Escribi un esquema y la dividi a 7 capitulos. Ahor se que el comic sera mas o menos 70 paginas.
Eh terminado el primer capitulo en lapis y es 7 paginas. Entonces este digujo. Capitulo 1: Adviento de Miedo. Estoy contenta como salio. Miedo normal salio bien. Me gusta como lo pinte. Pero Miedo Aterrador me di problemas. Extraño porque los dos son muy fascil parami. Lo dibuje 3 veseces antes que salio asi. Pobre Mideo normal. Me da un poco de lastima porque no se merece nada de esto. Pero al mismo tiempo me gusta mucho que sufre. Asi que que pasa aqui? No les dire, ja! Pueden adivinar. Que piensan que esta pasando? Que piensan que pasar en el primer capitulo?

The idea of using chapters is interesting and helps to mantain order in the comic, pheraps i should do the same with mine but mine wouldn't came out until i finished all the necessary. I like this intro, especially the colours of background, the texture (pretty neat) of background and Fear's pose. I like his pose, quite fluid and natural and considering i am sadistis i enjoy seeing Fear treated like that but i also enjoy the rising of true Fear, Scary Fear

This story will probably be about 7 chapters total. I've never done chapters before so it is my first time and an interesting experiment. I'm glad you like this. I wanted it to be creepy and have the misdirection to the read that he is there to hurt the old Fear when he is not. He always looks scary even when he's not doing scary things. I'm glad you liked that too. Oh I love hurting him and this has been fun. I highly recommend this little insert I made that I think your sadistic nature will also like.
I must finish page two of this. It's in the works.

Hehe yes he's much better now than he was before. This takes place in his own mind. I actually drew a more detailed sketch comic called Shine in the Dark pages 1 and 2 that explains what is happening here.

Poor fear, little that he knows that his life is about to change...for the worse. Well done with this, never a thought a protagonist can become a antagonist. Just to apologize in advance, but sometimes I make silly mistakes in my comments, just to let you know. But other than that, have a nice day!

Very nice. Ah, poor Fear. While I do appreciate seeing characters suffer, I also tend to sympathize a lot if I feel the character doesn't deserve it. Though in my mind it's hard to define what I mean when I say 'deserves it'. There is one character in a manga I'm reading who is my favourite and has had a lot of success and I absolutely want him to suffer this story arc though that doesn't seem likely now. I guess I feel that characters should all go through equal amounts of success and suffering. I always want the weak ones to show their brilliance or get revenge on those that ridicule them and the strong ones to fall apart and show their weaknesses.

Poor Fear... I love feeling sorry for him, yet hate it because I can feel his suffering. That's my love-hate relationship with angsty Fear stories and artwork. But the more he suffers, the more I want to comfort him and heal his pain.
Is it wrong that I think it's almost... tragic what he became? When you think about it, it almost wasn't of his own free will. Abuse made him a monster... BUT, then again, he is Fear, and fear is the darkest, most crippling emotion. I guess this was his choice, right? He genuinely took full advantage of this change in him. I am looking forward to how he evolves into his new role.

I don't get the whole need to comfort thing. I'm completely sadistic and get pleasure from hurting characters I love. The more I love them the worse off their lives are. I don't want to comfort them. I want to hurt them more. If you think this is bad and the other drawing just wait til you see what I will do to him later on. In fact I was so anxious to mess him up I've skipped to I think chapter 5 and started to draw that part of it.
Is it wrong that I think it's almost... tragic what he became?
Yes.
Don't feel sorry for him. If he found out he'd come after you next and bring your worst nightmares to reality. He's not sorry about what happened. In fact I'll give you one spoiler. He thanks anger later on. He's better and stronger for it. The choice was that he chose to accept what is truly is and once you do that you would not believe the incredible powers you get. Instead of being guilty and crippled in some part that he's become "evil" he takes to his role 100%. This drawing takes place in his mind while Fear is passed out from the nasty punch Anger gave him. That's why he's on fire and hurt. Scary Fear was born or awakened. That's why he's a shadow rising from his burnt little corpse. He's still Fear only matured and better now. He's faced his own fears. And in his old form he never could have stood up to his bullies.

Yes this is very true. I like stories about people getting revenge on their bullies. I just watched Hannibal Rising and loved what he did to the guy that kept trying to pick on him. I loved the school director's quote too. Something like, "You don't respect the human pecking order. You keep hurting the bullies." Hehehe.

I love how you did this. As I see here you made the innocent Fear just seconds after being beaten out by Anger and with that Scary Fear silhouette beside him, I think this would be how he will be "possessed" with his evil powers. I like how you did those tiny flames, and also Fear's tears and the scary glowing eyes of Scary Fear. You did the lightings pretty well here too. Nice work.

Thanks. Yes poor Fear was innocent up to this point and the creation of Scary Fear is all Anger's fault. I'm glad you like those. Cute tiny flames but they already did their damage. I really enjoyed giving him those tears. They weren't as noticeable I guess in the second page.

Al final ha muerto la antigua personalidad de Miedo. El antiguo Miedo cobarde y miedica se ha ido por fin. Ya se ha transformado en Miedo Aterrador. Una vez que uno se quita una piel no se la puede volver a poner de nuevo.
Estoy pensando en todo el trabajo que te va a dar el hacer un cómic de 70 páginas. Pero los capítulo hasta ahora son perfectos.

Jeje, si. Pobresito. Y la cosa que confunde a la jente es que no fue Miedo Aterrador el que lo mato. El nacio de su muerte y enojado que tuvo que ser asi aun que ahora es mejor y mas poderoso. Se que este dibujo engaña a muchos pero es asi. Los hara penser que paso, porque y si es bueno o malo.
Ironico. Ese piensamiento me da mideo. Ojala no pierdo interes en el camino porque tengo una buena historia.

Si es irónico, ja! El 70 páginas de comic te dan miedo. Eso son recuerdos del antiguo Miedo. La nueva personalidad de Miedo es fría y tranquila y usa la lógica aun mejor que la antigua. Puede darte miedo el tener que hacer 70 páginas en un periodo de tiempo corto. Pero no es así. Tienes todo el tiempo que quieras. No hay obligación de terminarlo enseguida. Take your time! Así creas más adicción en nosotros que estamos deseando saber que va a ocurrir. La historia y los dibujos enganchan (hook?). Podemos esperar aunque estemos deseando saber que va a pasar.

Lo que mas me preocupa es que pierde el interes antes de terminar. En este momento no parece posible porque estoy disfrutando mucho de este personaje. Pero me ha pasado muchas vesces que siempre es un miedo que tengo. Y tan larga esta historia. La quiero terminar.

El truco que yo empleo para evitar aburrirme y cansarme es hacer otra cosa intermedia. Por ejemplo: Si estoy con una foto y veo que me va a llevar mucho tiempo la composición empiezo otra y descanso de la primera. Las voy combinando y procuro no agobiarme ni estresarme por no terminarla rápidamente. Es mejor ir despacio para que salgan las cosas mejor. Es normal que pierdas el interés. En economía eso se llama "Ley de la Utilidad Marginal Decreciente" Significa que al principio todo el mundo disfrutamos mucho de una cosa pero que luego la novedad deja de serlo y va perdiendo brillo. Le pasa a todo el mundo. Necesitamos cosas nuevas para mantenernos ilusionados. Cuando nos cansamos volvemos a las cosas antiguas que ya han recuperado un poco de su novedad y brillo. Así conseguimos terminarlas aunque quizá no tan rápido como queremos. El otro día mi padre me comentó que Miguel Ángel, el escultor, había tardado no se cuantos años en terminar La Gioconda. Y yo le dije: claro, pero no pensarás que fue lo único que hizo en tantos años, ¿no? Lo que hizo fue dejar el cuadro sin terminar por un tiempo y hacer cosas entremedias y luego seguir y luego dejarlo. Así hasta que lo acabó.

Ah pero yo me pongo muy obsessionada. El amor que tengo a mi Thagirion Realm lo eh tenideo fuerte desde el 2006. El amor a las aves desde infancia. Quando es verdadero nunca meaburo. Pero cuando se trata de fandoms es fascil sacarme de ellos especialmente si otros fans hacen algo malo que me molestan. Por ejemplo me encantaba Godzilla pero los otro fans me enojaron mucho y lo deje y ahora quando veo las figuras y las peliculas solo requerdo lo malo. No es bueno eso. Y pienso que como puedo hacer arte increible de esos monstros ahora pero quando me da un poco de ganas no lo hago porque no quiero ver con esas personas. Quando me meto a un fandom nuevo que es raro (Inside Out es la primera vez en 5 años que me meto en uno) trato do no intarectuar con otros fans para que no me aruinen la experiencia. Si me vienen a mi esta bien pero ya no los busco.
Tambiem me puede pasar que venga otra cosa y me meto completamente en eso y olvide el otro. No quiero que pase eso tampoco. Asi que siempre es una carera conra el reloj de yo mismo. Y nunca se quanto tiempo tengo.

No interactues con nadie en el fan art. Es la interpretación que tu haces de un personaje y da igual la que hagan los demás. Si dices que no te gustó la que hicieron otros de Godzilla es porque la tuya era completamente distinta pero más original.
Y si te entran ganas de hacer algo con Godzilla ahora quiere decir que aunque te cansara de inside out en un futuro te entrarían ganas de volver a hacer algo. Yo creo que no debes pensar en eso ahora. Haz lo más que puedas y te apetezca tengas el tiempo que tengas. Siempre estará bien.

Es lo que aprendi hace años. No solo es lo que ellos dibujan pero la estupidez. Los fans de Godzilla so los peores mas estupidos que me eh metido con. Tuve un "genio" que se enamoro unavez de mi vercion de mi monstra Destroyah. Se puso seloso que la dibujaba con SpaceGodzilla y ni era relacion romantica. Algo que ni me gusta. Despues se enamoro de mi aun que tenia novio. Chris. Despues no creia que Chris existia, que lo invente para que me deje en paz. Asi que mande a Chris a que lo asuste.
Pero si como todavia me gusta spacegodzilla y peienso dibujarlo. Que bello lo pudiera hacer ahora.

Well, Jackpot! So many sevens. Of course now the seven covers will make a good systematical order, in which you can also draw a lot of stuff you want. Like this one here with Fear being hurt, but his potential as Scay Fear being shown as a possibility for his awakening, ergo the Advent. The room in which they are seems to be rather different from the headquarters, which is basically like a tidy office. This purple, windowless room looks like a contained area, maybe the mind of Fear himself, due to the color choice. I would say, maybe the place in Fear's mind, which hold his Scary form? Well, a lot of analyzing, but the important thing for now is that it looks pretty good that way.

Yes. The sevens have been popping up everywhere for me. Quite amusing. Yes our conversation helped me decide to do this. It will definitely help keep things more organized for me. If you saw you LJ you know I was frustrated about something I read. This helped me have a reason to draw normal Fear hurt. Yes that's exactly it. It's what Anger awoke in him after that last nasty hit. I do imagine this as being inside Fear's mind. What was happening while he was passed out. Definitely could be the place Scary Fear resides when he's in his normal form.

Ooh, this looks very cool! I think that the application of chapters is a good one, as it'll indeed keep everything more nice and organized. It appears like in this chapter, old Fear has in a sense died... but a new Fear, a more confident one, finally emerged. A transition, in a sense. Hence, the intimidating shadow in the back makes perfect sense since it shows the new Scary Fear. It's something most people would probably be frightened if they saw it, an ominous shadow with glowing purple eyes isn't exactly the stuff of daydreams. But it is the stuff of nightmares. Poor normal Fear though, he looks so defeated. The pool of blood, the fire, and the tears really illustrate the pain he is currently going through. The expression is so perfect. The poses too, of both Fears, look great and add to the overall image. And of course, I love the dark purple colours... looks lovely and professional. So nice job once again.
