Let's hope this uploaded right.Might be a bit big...So for those of you who have slower internet connections and wanna view it...You just might be here awhile...So do something while you wait so you won't be so bored. x3;;;
Alright...This is mainly for Photoshop users...BUT! It CAN be used for Shi Painter or PaintBBS. Except the opacity is different in those programs...It's the "A"...But I don't know what setting you should use for it...But like this I'd set it low so you could do the layered shading.
And you don't have to do eyes this way! For all I know this isn't the right way! It's just how I do eyes and peoples seem to love them (Which is why I made the tutorial)...But you may find some useful things in here to use. ^^
And this is just for eyes on their own...Without a head or anything around them...But when I do eyes they're usually under other coloring, like on the last layer right before the background...So I wouldn't have THAT much extra...Except in the white of the eye...Does that make sense?
If anything confuses you...PLEASE LET ME KNOW...And I'll explain it as best as I can. =3

X.X Even simple tutorials like this confuse the crap out of me. Well, the layer part does. I have no clue how to do the first step.

The first step? You have your lineart and make a new layer underneath the lineart layer. And on that layer get a solid color (The eye color) and color the eye...Going outside the lines are okies. That's teh first screenshot...The second screenshot is starting to shade. You see the pattern it's in? The part that wasn't colored is kinda a "u" like shape, that's where your highlights will be. I have teh opactiy at 28% so I could do that layered shading.
Wait...Did I explain the wrong thing? O.o; and if I didn't does this make sense or did I just confuse you even more? x3;;;

That makes a little more sense to meh. But, I might confuse you, but I have a question for ye: How do we know if we're shading in the right place? we could accidently color the nose area instead of the eye..

If I'm understanding that correctly...You should automatically know if your coloring the eye or the nose...They should obviously look different. x3; Is that what you were asking?
