*is glad she doesn't own photoshop* Seriously seeing all those extra options and such confuses me and I'm way to stubborn and lazy to learn what they do XD;
This is a pretty good tutorial though. Really clears us those icky layers. 70 layers isn't a lot, I've seen pictures with 500+ layers [which is crazy x-x]. But yeah, I'm one of those people who sticks to like around 10 layers at the most xD; Too many layers and i forget what they are x3

500 layers doesn't seem crazy to me.

Alright, just what about clipping masks confuse you? The whole thing or only part of it, such as creating them, or what?

well, i read through it a couple of times, and i tried it... i think i've gotten the hang of it now.
but could you breifly explain in detail how to work with the clipping mask once you've brought it up? if you could, i'd greatly appreciate it!
ps, keep up the great work, i love your stuff! ^.^

OMG...So so sorry for the late reply.
Alright I'm gonna use an Articuno picture I'm currently working on to help explain. x3
[link]
Now in this screenshot (Sorry if it seems a little...Out of focus...My screen resloution is 1028x1024 and I shrunk it down so it isn't so big... ) I have my basic coloring for the blue of Articuno, and I have a clipping mask brought up above it.
And now here I started some basic shading that's on the clipping mask: [link]
Now when I realease the mask this is what it would look like: [link]
Now since the layer is no longer linked to the blue layer the shading goes outside the lines and looks really sloppy. x3;;; So clipping masks connect to the layer below it. The shading in this picture is connected to the blue layer. It WON'T go anywhere else except in the blue area of that layer.
Now why don't I just shade on the blue layer with the transparent pixels locked? It owuld do the same thing wouldn't it?
Yes, it would...But I screw up on shading and highlights a lot...And it's hard to fix them when they are on the same layer...When they are on different layers it's easier to erase or edit the shading or whatever. x3
Did I confuse you even more? xD;;;
