Description
A bit of an update and redesign for the mysterious creature behind all these alien heroes..the Hexamatrix itself. As it’s aged and grown closer to its wearer, Lex Hex, the Hexamatrix has changed appearance slightly. It’s colors have shifted to black and pine green, accented by silver. The palm controls have also changed to become a simple button, from which one selects and previews transformations.

The Hexamatrix is a very powerful entity. Crafted by three of the most prominent cosmic entities; The Overforge, blacksmith of the Gods. The Curator, collector of all knowledge and Kobold the Evolver, puppeteer of evolution itself. These three pooled their great power together to form the Hexamatrix, originally for the purpose of gathering and cataloging the DNA of all sentient creatures, should they be driven extinct unnecessarily. As time progressed however, they began to sense a looming presence, one that only the Hexamatrix and it’s wearer could match. Kobold was first to hear the warning..a mysterious signal from beyond this realm..beyond this Multiverse. A signal very similar to that of the Hexamatrix itself..another of its kind, perhaps.

The Hexamatrix is a highly complex and powerful organism. It’s mechanical components are biological in nature and far beyond anyone’s current understanding. It’s alive, but not in the traditional sense. It has DNA of its own, but is able to completely reform its genetic code at a whim. It’s conscious, it feels but it cannot speak outside of emotional beeps and woos. The Hexamatrix is host to innumerable strands of DNA from creatures across the cosmos, able to contain them and more within a crystal imbedded beneath the dial, it’s storage crystal. This crystal however is actually a powerful artifact in itself..it’s a piece of Kobold the Evolver himself, a Kobold shard identical to the ones wielded by The Oddities of Wildworld. This Kobold shard is able to gather DNA from sentient creatures, melding it with the DNA of the wearer to turn them into a new form, effectively what the wearer would look like if born into that race. It can also form clothing and even machinery from organic cells.

The Hexamatrix is worn by Lex Hexington. Since meeting the Hexamatrix when he was 10 years old, Lex has grown very close to and adept in the use of the Hexamatrix. They’ve effectively become one. As they’ve grown closer, more abilities were revealed, such as different modes and traits. The Hexamatrix has a Watch Mode, where it takes on the appearance of a human time piece, able to determine and display many different things including; time, location, communication and even translation. By tapping twice on the dial, one activates the Hexamatrix which unfurls and envelops the forearm. One can then use the palm controls to select their desired transformation. Originally, Lex would have to change playlists with the dial itself, but he’s grown close enough to the Hexamatrix that he can now select aliens with a thought. The Hexamatrix has a Dormant Mode, which Lex refers to as “Tattoo Mode”, where the Hexamatrix hides within Lex’s body to prevent attention being drawn to it. This allows Lex to immerse himself into a situation without worrying that someone will recognize the Hexamatrix. While in Tattoo Mode, the Hexamatrix becomes unresponsive and cannot be extracted or removed from body by any means, unless activated by Lex.

The Hexamatrix, though created to be a backup for the universe, now has a mission of its own..protect its wearer. It has come to care deeply for Lex, and he for it. When nobody is around, Lex even talks to it. It’s become his companion, his friend.
