Description
Just a quick and easy tutorial on how to make a "Dress-up" game in flash. It's super simple and super basic. This only had the "click-and-drag" function; like it doesn't snap on to the person. I hope you guys like it ^-^_____________
Be aware of in which order you code the movieclips! code all of your clothing items that are bases (shirts, shoes, pants) first, so you can have other accessories and such show on top of them! A perfect example of this is in my test, the t-shirts cover up the necklaces.
_____________
Lol. Mine is kind of crappy. If you are really interested, use this one I found. It is 10 light years better than mine!

I think I did everything right, but when I test it, the clothes don't move...Can anyone help?
Also, I'm a bit confused on the coding. In theΒ startDrag (""); line, do I have to put something in the quotation marks?
Thanks~!

Help, Legiokat. When I try to put the drag code into ActionScript 3.0, I get a syntax error. I'll try to fix it.

Almost 2 Years later, a random other person replies:
It's supposed to be only for ActionScript 2.0..Β
You will most likely get an error, just like in your case, if you tried to do it in more updated versions! O.o

So I added the code to my clothing and then tested it out (ctrl+enter). When I tested it out, it wouldn't drag the clothing? ; n; help.

I use Macromedia Flash professional 8. I'm sure you can make it work on any Flash program, I just won't swear by these codes working in as3.0

You can either draw it straight onto the stage or import a picture (via copy/paste, or from your libraries)

Adobe illustrator is not the program which you need. You need a version of flash. I use Macromedia Flash Professional 8, I don't know if other versions will work. I also do not have a mac, so I am not sure on how to help you really. But I do know that AI is not the program you should be using...Β

I'm sorry, did I use the term "Flash thingy" somewhere? I tend to make up words like that. If you want clarification, tell me where you saw it. I will do my best to define it for you. sorry for the inconvenience. Without finding the instance I used it, I am going to assume "flash thingy" just refers to either a flash document/game. Or it could possibly refer to a button perhaps?I am not sure. If you still need help defining this, just tell me where you saw it, and I will help clarify.

Theyare the sam thing, adobe is just newer. Make sure adobe has actionscript 2.0 or it won't work. I personally don't know about all of the newer version of Flash. So I do recommend that you research it before you buy it or download it.Β

You can't get flash without paying (legally, of course). Β Your options are pretty much paying or piracy. Β I am going to go with paying, it's only $20-$30.

It is possible as there is many programs to do it but I realize Flash is the quickest way to.
I know how to do it in GML the language of Game Maker or Game Maker Studio the game make making program.
I bet a certain mind could do it in C,C#,C++,Java etc., it just depends on how much
you know about the language to do it.
I suggest if you're not going to do Flash to make this game use Game Maker or Game Maker Studio. It's simple, free,Β
and damn easy to jumpΒ into.
