Description
So I've been looking over my main cast and Rex's design is the only one that didn't feel right. Which is a shame because he one of my favorites, so while not a drastic change I like it.He's still the most over dramatic and petty theater kid in school, thats holds a long standing hatred with Basil.Dumb facts:
-Lives with his dad Ace on the weekdays and spends the weekends with his mom DeeDee
-Mandark is his stepdad and he has a younger sister that he adores.
- Doesn't like the girls his dad dates but doesn't say anything since they don't stay longer than a night or two.
-Despises his Uncle Dexter's family. Prefers his other 'Uncles' (the other Gang Green Gang)
- Original became friends with Zairrie and Butterfly to get dirt on Basil. Ended up genuinely liking them and abandoned his plans half way.
- Both Sirius and Cricket are his earliest friends but also surrogate older brothers to him. Thinks Alanis is cool but disagree's with her taste in romantic partners.
-His nickname is little dragon by his mom.

Oh, I do love his style, especially the accessories!
I particularly like the way that he became friends with Zairrie and Butterfly - it's such an Ace idea that it almost hurts!
The fact that he doesn't like Dexter at least gives him some common ground with his step-father whenever his mother is out of earshot. My version of Ace nicknames his eldest son, Hiroshi, "nerd!" It's meant affectionately, of course, and Hiroshi often doesn't hear people calling him when he is busy until Ace yells "Yo, Nerd!"
Hiroshi and Dexter, though not related, have a friendly rivalry...as in Hiroshi thinks it's friendly while Dexter sees it as a rivalry!
Count me in for the sketch dump!

Yeah he's a tricky little sneak, but with the two of them were so nice that he couldn't go threw with it. He really did pull out his inner Ace for that (Papa Ace was a little proud when Rex fully told him what happened)
DeeDee actually has a strained relationship with Dexter at this point because he was very vocal about his dislike of Ace. Which lead to his family talking down to her's. It's a hot mess but it does help Rex and Mandark bond at least.
I think that's super cute, and kinda shows how close they two are despite being different.
Hiroshi and Dexter's rivalry sounds cute. Even if its one sided on Dexters side lol

It's probably a good thing that he decided to abandon his plans - I doubt that things would have ended well for the poor boy if he had tried to go through with them. He might even find that he picks up some juicy titbits through their friendship anyway, with 100% reduced chance of getting his head kicked in for learning them.
It's very sad that Dexter was willing to sacrifice his relationship with his sister and nephew (although I imagine Ace did very little to help matters). No doubt having Mandark for a brother-in-law has absolutely delighted him no end! 
Ace and Hiroshi are very close, just as Snake is super bonded with their eldest daughter Viola. All six of their children are intelligent, but Hiroshi is genius-level. Ace is astounded that he has managed to father so many intelligent children, particularly his genius son. He just has to keep reminding Hiroshi that he "doesn't speak nerd!"
I think it's partially jealousy on Dexter's part. Originally he enjoyed the idea of mentoring another boy genius and inventor. Then he realised that 1) Hiroshi was a lot cleverer than him, and 2) Hiroshi kept running off to fix and improve his own inventions...massively, as he passed them. Hiroshi actually built Big Billy's new arm - he would be itching to get his hand on Butterfly's to upgrade it! His upgrades and inventions are actually quite brilliant.
I will wait happily. I enjoy your next-gen stuff enormously.

Yeah all three have some very, overprotective relatives and even if all of them like Mr.Ace they weren't going to let any one pick on their younger siblings/cousins. He does get a few good tidbits here and there but so does Basil unfortunately, which is why Zairrie made a 'no talking about the other policy' Though things get worse when Koro comes into the mix as they both want to hang out with him.
Yeah Ace tried at first to be friendly but Dexter's arrogance quickly got under his skin,especially when the ginger talked down to him and DeeDee. So over time he'd jab back at him and it rollercoasted into a full out war. The breaking point was when Dexter's family would talk down to her's (especially her son).The only person who wouldn't was Dexters wife Lavava (ironically Mandarks younger sister). Truthfully I've never been a huge fan of Dexter himself so I can see him being a bit of a prick.
Yeah Dexter isn't sure whose worse Ace or Mandark (which is funny because Ace and Mandark weirdly get along). Poor Ace can't catch a break though as his partners families always dislike him lol. I'm glad they eventually warmed up to him.
Good parent/child relationships always make me happy. That's kind of what happened with Jack and the twins, he just naturally bonded with his two hell raisers. Though Baine is a bit clinger to Jack than Johnny is. While Kaye and Riva are super close to Blossom (especially Kaye who is a total momma's boy).
I can just hear Ace saying'I don't speak nerd Hiroshi' and it super sweet. He has the same problem with Rex who is a total drama/theater nerd and he doesn't honestly care about the different actors in Battle bugs the musical, but Rex does so he tolerates it. (it's more Rex and DeeDee's thing but he likes to be included)
Butterfly would probably let him if Hiroshi gives her like laser blaster (because Uncle Jack said no for safety reasons) and as long as she can decorate it she's happy. Poor Dexter's ego probably took a beating when he compared his stuff to Hiroshi's but oh well.

Oh dear - Rex has a thing for Koro, doesn't he? I imagine the ever-increasing fireworks would be great to watch from a safe distance! 
I don't dislike Dexter, but I can see how he would grow up to be the kind who would rub people the wrong way with his superior. (Pretty sure Hiroshi would knock him down to size without even trying or realising) He is more approachable in my version, but he has a purpose in my universe so it keeps him busy. If he tried to put Ace down (or gods forbid Snake) Hiroshi would step in without hesitating. He is very protective of his parents. It's nice that Mandark's sister tried to be better than her husband, but having Mandark become friends with his wife's ex over a shared contempt of Dexter is a pretty bit of karma
Actually, after Snake dated HIM (the latter nearly breaking Ace's back), broke up with HIM and chose Ace, fell pregnant, and Ace's dad tried to kill him and then both parents disowned him, Ace is very subdued. He spends a lot of time re-evaluating his life and behaviour. Snake's father lives in Japan with the twins and only meets him after Ace is hospitalised. It's Ace's parents that bear the brunt of the Ingleberrys' hatred. Snake's dad is a lawyer (with a Scottish accent, hee!) and he really hated the idea of his unborn grandchild being exposed to a violent alcoholic grandpa and bigoted granny (his terminology). He suggests drawing up a restraining order or getting them to sign something relinquishing their rights as grandparents to they can't try and push for access later.
The thing about the Copular children is the age gap between Viola and Hiroshi and their four younger siblings. Viola was ten and Hiroshi was eight when the triplets were born (Snake had a miscarriage in between), so they had so much quality time with their very young parents. Hence their bonds. There are fifteen years between Viola and her youngest sister Rose, so the littlest Copular was born into an established and adoring family. Ace had a very close bond with Hiroshi and Rose is his little Princess and he is wrapped around her finger. He's also very protective of his sassy middle daughter, Rina (formerly called Michiru), as she is most like him. Snake is very close to Viola and his younger sons - Shinji, in particular, is a mama's boy. Yet when they really need help, they all shout for Mama (and one shout from Mama sends them all running in fear!) Ace and Snake really struggle to understand their eldest son sometimes but they do everything to encourage and support him - plus they haven't had to replace a single thing in their house for years! I 
You know, I have spent most of today (while at work) thinking about how Butterfly would get her weaponised arm. I should point out that Viola and Hiroshi view any child of Ace or Snake in other universes as a kind of half-sibling, so Hiroshi would automatically regard Butterfly as his sister and wants her to be happy. When Jack tells him "no laser weapons" after seeing Billy's weaponed to HELL arm, he asks him to write that down and sign it "to avoid arguments." Then when he has kitted Butterfly up with electro-plasma beams and everyone goes barmy, Hiroshi waves the document and says "you just said no laser weapons!" He is the son of Ace D Copular, a genius and has a lawyer grandad - what did Jack expect? 
Hiroshi has also been taught and encouraged by both Mojo Jojo and Professor Utonium - there is a lot of knowledge in that brain! Dexter and Mandark had no chance...

He may or may not have a small thing for Sharkboy (as Devonna calls him) but Rex is a bit hesitant when it comes to his love life. Especially at the moment since he's trying to figure out a lot of personal stuff. Plus now Rex has been thrust into learning magic and going on adventures with his friends. But it won't stop Rex from flirting and watching Koro play basketball >U>
I guess it was his treatment of DeeDee at times and how he looked down on people. Truthfully he just gets under my skin but I can see why people do like him. IDK I'm just weird like that XD. Rex has openly talked smack to his Uncle whenever he's (or his cousin Odile) talked down to his parents. This has also led Rex to become super protective of his half-sister Vivi. He and Hiroshi would make a the best babysitters I feel like. Ultra baby proof the house with gadgets XD Truthfully Mandark and Ace also bond over a shared past of regretful villainy. After college Mandark went threw a dark(er) phase where he joined Berserk's group and becomes her main scientist. Though after he befriends Brute and opens his eyes to how toxic Berserk truly is, he helps Brute, her child, Aku, and Berserk's children escape. Even becoming Annabelle's (Berserk and Fuzzy's only child) and Bijou (Aku and Berserk's only child) legal guardian (along with Aku who was resurrected but without half his power's) until Annabelle become legal age. Lalavava refused to let her husbands bs put a stain on family and is the only person Rex will acknowledge as family (Odile is a major villain in my NG and in Rex's life). Though Karma is sweet and a black haired duo are the ones to deliver it XD
Aww poor babies, I'm glad Snakes family were able to give those individuals. Plus I really love Snakes dad and his takes on Ace's parent (if you could even call them that). In my AU the gang greens family members were all part of the same gang and after a drug deal went wrong passed down and turned them and there kids (the GGG) into mutants. They were good parents but many went to prison after a few deals went wrong and the kids (The current GGG). Ace's parents were the leaders and took care of the kids the most, while Snakes were the doctor and animal enthusiasts.
Thats really sweet and I like that the older kids (Viola and Hiroshi) have such a strong bond with their younger siblings (though poor Snake). Ace says he doesn't like certain shows but we all know he's lying. I do think the Copular family's would get along great and often have movie nights XD
One of the reasons Jack didn't add weapons to her arm because it was not only a prototype but an example for others on the durability of the arm (Jacks company is made around hospitals and robotic prosthetic, long with a lot of other technology/ health related thing. And they don't rob people of there money) so her shooting weapons isn't ideal but since Spicer Tech didn't do the upgrades it's a loophole.

Well, it's possible to have a crush/romantic feelings for someone and not actively seek a relationship with them. Viola is much the same, having developed crushes on older boys and girls, but realising that it's more of an infatuation than a potential partner. She also has a lot of self-worth issues to process, to the extent that she doesn't realise that her childhood friend is in love with her. She and Hiroshi are also a little pre-occupied with hopping between dimensions to frustrate their twisted versions for proper romantical pursuits!
Snake and Belinda also fell out twice because of Snake's romantic adventures. The first was when Snake and HIM broke up and HIM told Snake that his sister had asked HIM to help get him away from Ace, and Snake was rightly angry with her. The second time was more of a continuation of the first when Snake and Ace got together and she found them asleep in bed. When she found out Snake was pregnant they reconciled and after she saw what Ace's father had done to him she started to understand him a little more. They still don't entirely like one another all the time, but they do love one another as they are family. Even if Belinda still hated Ace's guts, she would never transfer that hatred onto her nieces and nephews as she practically worships all six of them! They are Snake's children first and foremost and she would bestow this wisdom onto an unsuspecting Dexter and Odile. She has the clinical intelligence to shut down any attempts to counter her "why you are wrong" speeches and being dragon-blooded can look quite frightening when angry. I'm about to write one of her speeches in the next chapter of my fanfic - aimed right into Ace's face! She'd probably step in if she heard Rex trying to stand up for himself and his sister so Viola or Hiroshi can quietly get them to safety.
Ace is very much reformed too, even though he is technically a mafia boss now. When he and his grandparents are in business, regular crime actually goes down. The Copulars are a little less Godfather/Boardwalk Empire and more John Wick, which likely suits Townsville's colourful populace much more! I do love Mandark's reformation story!
The Ingleberrys' adore their four children enormously but get so absorbed in their work that they accidentally neglect their emotional needs. They are mortified when they realise how isolated Snake had been left when Belinda went to med school. Snake's dad (Ivy/Znake's father in PPGZ is the basis) is a big believer in making the best of what you have so doesn't get angry about his imminent grandfather-dom, focussing instead on how to give his grandchild the best start...which he sees as keeping its other grandparents as far away as possible. Snake's mum obviously performs all the c-sections for Snake personally and uses her influence to make sure her family has privacy when they are in the hospital. She also oversees Ace's treatment when he is brought in.
The gang's parents only meet each other in my HC after Snake falls pregnant. Ace and Arturo live two streets from one another and grew up together, so their parents know and loathe one another. Billy and Grubber are also childhood friends and met at Monster Kindergarten, so their parents know one another and are much more civil (Billy's parents are Welsh and Grubber's parents have lived all over, but currently live in central Germany. He has an uncle who technically lives in Transylvania and one in Britain.) Only Ace and Arturo are green by mutation, Snake, Grubber and Billy are all green by genetics. Aside from the obvious two, the parents get along famously, though Arturo's mother (very superstitious) is terrified of Billy's parents, which isn't helped by the fact Gwenith Williams is unaware of how loud she is and happily talks about how she and her kind used to eat humans before 'The Agreement!'
Snake actually has two miscarriages - the second one after Viola is killed and resurrected by the virus. He keeps a little shrine in the house with a picture of their scans set up with incense. They talk about it but are careful as Snake understandably gets upset. Viola carries a lot of guilt about the second one, for obvious reasons. The Copulars would definitely enjoy movie nights together, but it would be a good idea not to remark on the fact that Ace and Snake are holding little Rose down during dance numbers! Also ignore how quiet and focussed Hiroshi goes if they are watching the She-Ra reboot and Entrapta is on the screen, or how similarly they behave and sound...Ace is really hoping it's a phase... XD
Oh, Hiroshi would completely understand when it was explained. He's a good boy, but like most scientists can turn morally grey in the pursuit of discovery. He would never hurt Connie, gods forbid it, but he really wants to see how his electro-plasma beams react with Chemical X blood and...she's asking him to give her weapons and he would hate for them to react to her blood. He'd install all sorts of additions, including safeguarding mechanisms to protect her and would insist they were vigorously tested.

Yeah dimension hopping can leave a dent in ones love life XD It also causes some hiccups in his friendship with the NG gang green gang as Rex is slowly going down the path of heroism and Cricket just wants to cause trouble. They haven't robbed any one but do destroy stuff and release wisps (
)from time to time.
Thats good that Belinda (kinda) got over her hate for Ace and is a good aunt to her nieces and nephews (unlike Dexter). Though I would like to see Belinda put the two of them in there place (though it might be a long back and fourth between her and Odile since despite her personality, she's extremely smart). I can see Rex and Belinda getting along great though and he'd been happy to have another relative who doesn't hate him. I am sorry that HIM got inbetween Snake and Belinda.
I can see Ace being a mob boss or former rock star.
Aww at least they realized what was going on and went back to fix their relationship. Along with helping Ace and I love those headcannons for the parents (except for Ace's parents who are trash)! Monster kindergarten sounds adorable. Plus Arturo's superstitious mom sounds hilarious and adorable XD
Oh Ace it's not a faze, it's the love of a character (that both Connie and Hiroshi are going to fan over XD)
Jack gets that (and honestly wants to see that to but he's still the CEO of a very delicate company) Eventually he'd give them the thumbs up and give Hiroshi full access to his lab. I mean he can't do worse than Johnny
