Description

Well, even though I haven't really got into much for this Fakemon project, I couldn't help but to post this. This is one of the 3 commanders in Team Cyber, and one of the strongest: Atmos.

Atmos, due to his position as a top-ranked commander, serves as a primary antagonist throughout most of Pokemon Retro/Techno. As such, you'll be encountering him quite a bit, through he won't battle you much (only fought 2 times in the main story). He's first found in Focoro City after taking care of that Team Cyber Grunt from Bosquette City a second time, as well as defeating 2 more grunts with Jack's help. Stating that those defeats won't set Team Cyber back, he battles the player in a 1-on-1 battle and... well...

Cyber Commander Atmos
Name: Coptraptor Lv. 50
Type: Cyber/Flying
Item: None
Ability: Backup Supply
Moves: Kinetic Boost/Air Slash/Crush Claw/Cybomb

... Yea... Strictly speaking, he's undefeatable at this point... There's no way you can defeat him... After the battle, he says that this is the true extent of the Cybernetic Pokemon's power against 'a piece of garbage', as he called the player's Pokemon, before having his Coptraptor finish the player off... that is, until Alex shows up and intervene. Due to the risk of a battle against Alex, Atmos had the grunts fall back. Before leaving, he tells the player, Jack, and Alex that living Pokemon are worthless beings and states that Team Cyber will achieve their goal of eliminating them...

Tell me in the comments what you think... Don't steal...

my pokemon story is about an evil crimson red Lucario who is leader of the Anti-human initiative, a group hell bent on enslaving all of mankind...making them the pokemon and the pokemon are the masters. it sounds silly yeah, but if you heard the full context info, you'd understand that it s grim as fuck

Grim, yes, but also very tricky to pull off in an actual Pokémon game (in fact, the only time this actually happened was in PokeStar Studios, and that was just a movie).

And now that I realized it, I have a feeling that both of our teams would end up as hated rivals if they ever met: the Anti-human Initiative is a group of Pokémon trying to enslave all humans (if I heard that right) while Team Cyber is hoping to exterminate all Pokémon.

Aw man, and here I was thinking I could include a scripted loss in Pokemon! At least he doesn't steal your money and everything afterwards, cause that would stink.

Quick odd question though-in the case that you somehow traded much tougher Pokemon so that you'd have a much better chance of winning against Coptraptor, what WOULD happen if you won? Kind of odd, I know, but I'm really curious.

Also, is it me, or do I find his name absolutely funny because the ATMOSphere carries the air Pokemon, humans, plants, and others need to breath and essentially live? XDDDD

You know, I've been thinking about this scripted battle, and well, having to wait until the second gym to trade Pokémon does seem like a long time. So I think I'll make this change: The battle still ends if your one Pokémon is KOed, but if your Pokémon hold out for 2 or 3 turns (possibly with a traded Pokémon), then the battle ends immediately (with a different dialog afterwards, with Atmos saying he's surprised that your Pokémon managed to hold out this long). And besides, even with a traded Pokémon, you'll probably still have a tough time since traded Pokémon likely won't obey you since you'll only have 1 badge at that point.

Don't worry. Since it's a scripted loss, he does nothing else. And I actually planned for that by making it so you'd only gain the ability to trade with people in Focoro City, after the encounter with Atmos.

And yes. Atmos is essentially named after the Atmosphere. Not for spoilers, but the other 2 commanders are actually going to follow that naming scheme, going by the land, sea, and air (those Cyber-type legendaries also follow the same setup).

Pffft

If there was a leader/commander in a playable pokemon game who said my team was "a piece of garbage"

I would probably spend all my time getting them over leveled just to prove him wrong in the second battle
XDDDDDDDDDDD

Anyways, this is really coo!l

I really like this guys design (although, truth be told, I thought his shoulder things were wings at first glance XDDDDD)

Awesome job! c:

Truth to be told, he states that Pokémon are pieces of garbage because they're living Pokémon. As I've said in the past month or so, Team Cyber believe that living Pokémon are inferior, saying that they can never show off their full power.

I'm glad you like it. He's definitely one of the more serious members of Team Cyber, yet he's also the most calm member of said team (think 'Level Alex' calm).
