In Pokemon, there was a streak of fire/fighting (get it...firefighting) type fire starters. However, in the latest generation, Pokemon XY, Delphox broke the streak with its fire/psychic typing!Β Unlike the fire/fighting pokemon it can learn a water type move (ignoring how Emboar can learn scald) so despite it not being able to utilize the firefighting pun, it can actually fight the fire like a firefighter.Related content

I don't even use my story team when i payed online due to the fact that 5/6s of them would be wiped out by the typical greninja, which annoyed the hell out of me. so i've used another team i made for online, which works out much better, granted i haven't played in a while cause well smash bros and the other pokemon spinoffs have occupied my time.

I say it's pretty good Pokemon if you know how to use it well.
I actually love delphox alot more than everybodyΒ that hated it.
It's not really bad Pokemon. Has pretty decently good moveset
I mean it's no way is shallow since they given it more moves
it can learn in ORAS. Plus it's faster than a couple of otherΒ

Uh....I actually love greninja. But I don't see greninja being
too...overpowered, it's pretty frail like Lucario(I think it's much
easier with a trickroom set to beat greninja). Yeah it had a
lot of things it can knock out with protean but that's pretty much it...:/
I really don't understand it to be ubers AT ALL as it has very few
surviability against legendaries. Yes it's very unpredictable but
what you'd expect? It's a ninja...and no greninja wasn't there
in popularity he was planned before XY.

Honestly if Greninja didn't have Protean, it would be a whole lot less useful than it is. Man if only Delphox had gotten a better Hidden Ability, like Magic Guard or Synchronize. They fit the "magical" trope well and are actually usable. That or a better movepool.

I really hate how they made Greninja a Smash Bros character. He doesn't feel like a Pokemon like all the other Pokemon characters. He feels like a Ninja who just so happens to know water moves. Why couldn't they have given us something like that Paladin Grass/Fighting type one (is terrible with names and hasn't played Pokemon in a while

yeah, exactly. I can think of 10 different pokemon that would have made better Pokemon than Greninja. I mean, Even Lucario isn't as bad since his whole concept is that he's a Pokemon that's become so spiritually aware that it can telepathically talk to humans and converse with them. It makes SENSE for Lucario to be mostly a martial artist with some aura powers.Β
Greninja is just a Ninja with a Frog Motif. Nintendo could have brought over a hundred of their different Frog Ninja characters from the SNES and NES days.Β
Why not make Feraligator a playable character? It's got the water motif, is one of the more faster starters in Gen 2, and it would behave a lot more like an animal with Crunch, Ice Fang, Aqua Tail, Hydro Pump. The thing could have behaved sort of like a Cross between ROB and Greninja.Β
Or maybe go Serperior and play as this limber snake that would attack with it's tail and fangs. That'd be kind of kool and creative to play as

well good thing is, greninja is a lot less dangerous in smash than in the actual game it comes from. but yea it woulda been better honestly if they used someone else, but not a lot you can do
the ast thing we need in smash bros right now is more pokemon, we got enough in smash already

that is true. Though imo, it would be better if they just gave a single Pokemon to represent every Pokemon Generation. 1 for Kanto, 1 Johto, 1 Hoenn, 1 Sinnoh, 1 Unova, and 1 Kalos. There, that's 6 Pokemon total. And what, maybe 1-2 more every new Smash game? they increase the roster anyway every time

I'd actually like to see a Serperior in Smash. it would be an interesting opponent, using its tail to smack foes and sliding low on the ground, maybe throwing a typhoon of leaves at the enemy and its final smash could be Frenzy Vine

why so? Pikachu has been the mascot of Pokemon since the anime started. there's no reason to not make it the leading mascot of Pokemon in Smash as well. You'd have Jigglypuff represent Kanto, (or perhaps Mewtwo), Lucario representing Sinnoh, Greninja representing Kalos, and Pikachu representing the entire Pokemon genre as a whole.
Sort of like how the Pokemon trainer represented Pokemon as a whole back in Brawl
