Description
In Pokemon, there was a streak of fire/fighting (get it...firefighting) type fire starters. However, in the latest generation, Pokemon XY, Delphox broke the streak with its fire/psychic typing! Unlike the fire/fighting pokemon it can learn a water type move (ignoring how Emboar can learn scald) so despite it not being able to utilize the firefighting pun, it can actually fight the fire like a firefighter.Related content

And it knows DAZZLING GLEAM in oras! X3 And that's what makes delphox the best fire starter...but I admit blaziken is an awesome fire/fighting pokemon...

THANK ARCEUS they broke that chain!! Fire/Fighting Pokemon were my least favorite of any starter Pokemon. Charizard, loved. Typhlosion, loved. Blaziken, eh. Infernapa and Emboar, ug. I hated that chain. They thought they were SOOOO clever they had to keep using it gen after gen. Once was enough. FINALLY, one of the other types gets to be Fighting and I get to love Fire starter Pokemon again! This is the first time since Kanto I have liked the starters almost equally. And fyi, if I see a fire, I'm pulliung out my Blastoise. Two giant water cannons can put a fire out in a few seconds rather than sending my Fire/Fighting Pokemon in to save anyone inside and have them both get trapped and die.
But I digress. Sorry about the rant. Rough day. Didn't mean to offend anyone. Nice pic btw!

I see it more as roasted chicken, Donkey Kong after Mario hit him with a fireball and barbecue. And It's not, especially cause Chim Chim and BBQ are two of my least favorite Pokemon of all time. I don't know what is the most epic Type (probably one that has yet to be done off hand) but it's not Fire/Fighting. It ruined Fire Pokemon for three generations for me.
Don't worry about it, yours is pretty good, especially compared to some Deviants on here. And most of them come from English speaking countries too lol!

The most epic typing that I know is water/fire, look up "volcanion". He was a special event pokemon for Pokemon X and Y that had a water/fire typing, it's one of the most insane yet cool type combinations I've seen for a pokemon (p.s. I was kinda tired of the fire/fighting chain too)

Yeah, that is pretty epic. Can't wait till it comes out, (probably 2016). Also means Water will be paired with every Type, which is pretty cool. I'm thinking the MOST epic type does not exist yet. Something like Dragon/Bug or something (picturing Godzilla mixed with Mothra) I don't know. Too many combinations to consider for me. (p.s. yay )

No, volcanion is already out, he was given as a special event pokemon I think about a year ago, although I will admit that having a water/fire type starter would be epic! (dragon/bug would also be really cool! That combination would make such a good pokemon)

They found it in the coding of the game, but it has yet to be officially revealed or released. If anyone has one right now, it's hacked. Prediction for generation seven's starters: Grass/Fire, Fire/Water, Water/Grass lol! (I picture Charizard with Scyther's hands, Pinsir's claws and Butterfree's eyes.)

Typhlosion is the more boring and poor design. And Charizard only is good because is of the first generation. Only is a dragon of fire, 0% originality for 199X.
The true, the type more epic is Rock/Ground and Normal/Flying XD
Thank you

whosaskin In reply to Fireclaw-the-cat [2015-05-26 04:58:08 +0000 UTC]
Infernape is much more boring than Typhlosion is. When its flame is turned off, yes I agree, but with it on, no way. And Charizard does have a lot of nostalgia going for it, I agree, but it a flying, fire breathing dragon after all. Screw originality, that would be so AWESOME to have at your every command! Think about it. And if we are talking originality, let's talk about Feraligatr, who is a crocodile that is a Water type. Originality at its best...
LOL! Most epic type...Grass/Bug with Dry Skin for EIGHT times weakness. Epic Fail I mean.
Your quite welcome!

Actually, the first time i played pokemon - blue version - where everyone i knew took either Squirtle or Charmander, i took Bulbasaur. The reason was that i once read in a videogame magazine that choosing a starter was akin to choosing a difficulty level : Squirtle was considered "Easy" and Charmander was considered "Hard". I took Bulbasaur because, by process of elimination, i assumed it was medium difficulty and i didn't wanted my game to be anything special or to think to hard about it...
Oh boy. 1st gym : Rock. 2nd gym : Water. 3rd Gym : Electrik. 4th Gym : Grass. You wait until the 6th gym to get a type disadvantage, and the 8th gym is Ground. Bulbasaur : best idea ever.
Since then, i remember starting all pokemon version with the Grass starter. Those guys are a sick bunch of badassery.

See my bit with Kurobara to see my feats of grass types
Though I was one of the few people who liked charmander getting metal claw via level up in FireRed LeafGreen, Made a playthrough with charmander realistic (Since in Gen 1 your best bet was a nidoran with double kick but that's it)

Sometimes, I wonder whether the Fighting/Psychic/Dark triangle we see with the fully evolved X/Y starters is a bone for all those people looking for something other than the traditional Grass/Fire/Water match-ups we've seen at the beginning of every game.

i guess for a drizzle team, a delphox with rain dance can help the water types on a team get rid of grass types, but on the side it might also not really benefit delphox..
honestly i wish delphox has a better movepool, like maybe a fairy type move as well, cause the only other move it has to defend against water types is thunder punch... cause that works for a special attacker....

I just checked Bulbapedia and apparently Delphox can learn Dazzling Gleam in ORAS, so it looks like we spoke too soon. Still no Energy Ball, though.

yea someone informed me about that earlier too
which is odd cause i checked serebii twice and did not see it, mainly cause delphox's page doesn't have an or/as level up section just a general level up area.
but its there alright

SeriousJupiter In reply to kingofthedededes73 [2015-05-26 20:14:46 +0000 UTC]
Now I'm wondering whether I should send my Delphox to my Omega Ruby for a while to learn Dazzling Gleam or not. It would give her more coverage, but then again, she has done pretty well with her current moveset of Grass Knot, Shadow Ball, Psychic and Fire Blast. Also, I never use her in online battles anyway, because she's my starter and therefore I didn't get to breed her any good IVs. What the heck, I'll keep her current moves, but if I ever choose to breed a new Delphox with good IVs, I'll definitely teach it Dazzling Gleam.
