It's because she's a Kokiri. Kokiri children are immortal. They're based after Peter Pan's Lost Boys band. Same with Link, he's based after Peter Pan as well.

I kind of think that the Shade does, in some way. After all, he wasn't really cursed to stay in the living world so much as he wanted to pass down his skills before moving on.

Thats very sweet.. I love especially the detail, that you drawn with Links right eye. You know, the Hero's Shade right eye is... Ehm...
(Can't describe it! ) In the game the eye doesn't shine (And in this picture! ). The part with the "living" Link shows a scarf on his eye...This Idea impressed me.

I'm told it was heavily hinted at that they were the Hero of Time before they became a Stalfos, I'm not 100% sure since I haven't played it my self.

I've played Twilight Princess four times and I can't say there's conclusive proof of it. I'm not convinced as of yet.

The Heroβs Shade is not the Hero of Time, but the manifestation of his regret (according to the JP version of Hyrule Historia).

Yeah! Their friendship is very cute that's without a doubt! I like that Link changed drastically after he held Saria's hand, it kind of reminds me of this picture but with Zelda 
beautiful artwork! and Navi and the other fairy look very nice
