Description Identify, Identity
Be still, Monotony.

Reflect, Reflection
Be true, Adaption.

Distorted, Distortion
Be little, Society.

Inflict, Infliction
Be just, Personality

A birthday present for the person I respect wholesomely; internally and externally.

Always be true to yourself, and to others as you have done so well. Never be afraid to see around the illusions. You just might see the true reflection in the silver lining.

This is a take off of my new upcoming style. Enjoy.

This is beautifully painted; the soft but animated appearance of this drawing accomplished by duplicating lines and decreasing their transparency is quite nice paired with the faded blue shading and texture added to the figure's hair and face. In fact, I would even go as far as to add a bit more texture to the rest of the background but only very subtly.

Even though the technique which you employed to accomplish this double-lined effect is entirely yours, the same cannot be said of the concept of creating a double-lined effect as I've seen other artists do the same with their works. No, they did not look exactly the same as the degree of their lines' transparency differed from artist to artist as did the quality and thickness of their lines, but the fundamental idea was still there.

Take the chiaroscuro technique for instance; though it was said to be first 'discovered' by Renaissance artist Leonardo da Vinci, many painters such as Rembrandt, Rubens, Caravaggio (and his many followers) developed and honed this light-dark effect years later during the Baroque period. They weren't in any way ripping off any of da Vinci's work but what they did do (especially in the case of the Caravaggisti) was paint multiple renditions of Biblical scenes seeing as the Church was their biggest source of commission-work.

That said, I believe that a great part of creating art is becoming inspired by artists and employing their styles or certain ideas in order to inspire new art of your own. Complete mimicry in the from of copying line-for-line or stealing an idea entirely with no alterations and claiming it as your own is disreputable, however if a person can borrow or appropriate certain elements or styles from a preexisting work and then transform them to create an entirely new piece with different subject matter then they have done nothing wrong nor are they lacking in creativity.

For example, many artists today (especially those on deviantArt) are inspired by the definitive styles of Klimt and Mucha and adopt their 'look' with their own characters, compositions, colours and concepts. In a sense, they are paying homage to these past artists by reviving their artwork and introducing it to others.

Originality is something that artists strive to achieve in their works, but in this day and age when we are exposed to so many works created by hundreds of thousands of both current and past artists, it is nearly impossible to create a piece that doesn't appear to be inspired by someone else's work.

By the way, when working with this method, you have to copy and paste only the layer that has the outline. When coloring, you need to do that on separate layers.

Also, this is my own art style, and I did this to generate an effect on the eyesight to enhance my artwork meaning. I really would appreciate it if you do not try to generate work similar to this because I am trying to work with something original. The last thing I need is someone to not be original and copy me.

I didnt say I was going copy you. It was just neat.. It looked to me like it was done in layers but I was wondering if it was a filter.

And I never claimed that you would copy me. People make confirmation messages in order to enhance an idea in case there was a possibility of copying. I posted this in order to get the message across that that style is something I did uniquely, whether or not you copy me does not matter. If you do end up doing that, that is your own lack of creativity.

First off people copy others for the shear factor of learning. And I have no use for a type of "Blur or 3d effect" Since I use markers and only use elements to touch things up. Please do not attack me with no meaning thank you.

I never attacked you, I am correcting you on what you misinterpreted with my direction. I never claimed you would copy me, I am just stating a known fact about the general idea of people who do imitate. You really should not be taking this personally, it does not make any sense.

It should be pretty obvious with the copy and paste method.

By the way, the reason why I am not working on your project is because well, I cannot. My computer has completely blocked me from accessing the client, and for some reason I can log in but I cannot do anything or see my avatar. I do not have an internet connection problem because I am using an ethernet cable, it is just what my computer is doing that seems to be blocking things coming from their server to load products and information on the client. I have not been able to fix this for a long time, and I am doing my best to contact staff and seek support. This is really a problem, and so far no one seems to be helping me.
