Wonderful job, but one question: Why did you list "not" to post photos of domesticated animals in your dA gallery? I know wild animals are more attractive, but domesticated is all I have access to at the moment.

Brilliant! I don't know that I'd really use a lot of this since I've been taking pictures for a while, but I definitely plan on showing it to some of my friends. And your tips for your dA gallery had me simultaneously nodding my head and laughing. I have so many friends who will submit (all at once) ten photos from the same shoot and they do it so often that I generally only even look at once or two. Sometimes I just end up deleting them all!
Perhaps they'll read this and take it to heart. >_>

This is so helpful to me. Thank you.
I agree with the camera flash thing. I'm not sure how to "bounce" the flash yet so I end up with some horrendous shadows.
I have a setting on my FujiFilm called "natural light" which allows me to take photos in normal light whilst minimizing blur so that helps a lot.
This tutorial is amazing. Once again, thank you.

I love this guide, I'm just starting to get into photography and I have two questions.
The first is: Is there any special technique I can do to help steady my hand and prevent blur? It seems in alot of my pictures I fidget or sway slightly.
the second, which is a little juvenile, yet is still a concern I can't shake: I've got a relatively nice Camera...Kodak EasyShare V803...and I know I shouldn't even be thinking this but should I have some fancy shmancy camera is I want to get a bit more serious into photography or is it possible to still get all the desired quality from a camera like this.

Or you can lean up against a wall, or lean your elbows on something. You can also form your body into a tripod, just create a stance with your feet spread apart slightly, one in front of the other. You can also hold your camera close to your body... but then you can't look through the viewfinder. Leaning up against things helps a lot though.

hey i can answer your first question, to stop the camera bluring and steady your hand: Hold the camera with 2 hands always or you can by a tripod to attach the camera to and it will keep it straight

That's an excellent tutorial! I love how you brought up the subject of composition and perspective (two things I need to work on). The best part is that it wasn't too difficult to follow even if you're a newbie.
I'd look forward to seeing more newbie friendly tutorials like this one.

I have a quick question,
What program would you recommend for photo editing and such?
I've been trying to find one that will allow me to change my photos from color to black and white or sepia and stuff like that, but no luck so far.
Any suggestions?

i find fireworks is really easy to use. just select the image then click modify then i think its grey style, serpia etc etc. I think you can do it in word 2007 as well.
