I used to play the game, in a "I don't really know the rules so I make up my own rules as I play by myself" kind of way, but I basically had to stop playing because of an incident of someone accusing me of stealing their cards (I hadn't, but the situation looked pretty suspicious), and I tried to get off by saying that I didn't even play the game. I didn't really have the heart to pick it back up after that, even when I found the online version of the game where I could get around the not having people to play with problem.

I'm sorry you went through that! I probably wouldn't have picked it back up either.
The actual card game can take a lot of time also, so the video game is a good substitute, but it's pretty old now..I've played the online card game a few times but it's not as fun for me.

I've since discovered Magic: the gathering and gotten really into that, if only it wasn't so expensive.

I got really lucky and hatched a shiny Chewtle after only a couple of eggs using the Masuda Method. That's when you put one of your own Pokemon into the nursery along with a Pokemon from a foreign country. This ups your shiny chance quite a bit. That being said, I've hatched around 300 Applin's and haven't gotten a shiny
