*it was requested so i have moved this from scraps to my main gallery*this was started on September 11th 2001; it's been somewhere to put my sadness and disgust.
i'm posting it here with my paintings, but i consider it purely a historical place to vent, it's not for sale or show, it's a six year journal of feelings about the incident and aftermath of that day, i want it recorded here in case i finally destroy it.
it's mixed media (including newspaper cuttings from 12th Sept 2001) on canvas with so much on it i've forgotten what's there, i know it's been attacked with a blowtorch and paint stripper twice in it's history...today i added a few marks...this object is 20" x 16"...it is not political it is purely expression!

"College man, lover man, marked man... Marathon Man" was the original strapline for the film which made Dustin Hoffman famous and Sir Larry Olivier infamous.
This picture should make you famous. I really don't see why this kind of 'expressionism' isn't both popular and commercial. I want to favour all the really good ones.

An excellent video of the song, thanks. I'm a big fan and although I didn't directly name this painting after the track from the album/movie I wouldn't discount some influence on a subconscious level as I have listened to/watched The Wall so many times since 1979. Casting my mind back to making the painting I do remember remembering the song when I gave it the title...and the concept of the song fits, somewhat, with the message I was attempting to convey.
/Almost/ makes me want to express through painting again.

it makes me ...cry....dumb i know-but --it has worth to stay out for others to see. it has ;;;it speaks well of something so horrific. my dad was right there-got out. another did not. it was a terrible thing. anywhere in the world --death like this is not war--it is hate. hate should and is spoen--but this way??? it closed off any hooe for a long time--it makes people afraid and of what? it is humanly impossible to take some things in-and know of them. but they need to be known--your work seaks strong-to lead into silence-is death..and that is the worst of it all.

This painting expresses so much to me. It seems very jaded and disappointed, the textured white gives me an impression of decayed ideals. I love it.
