I do so much fantasy stuff, I figured that it was time to try something different. You can interpret the event depicted as you wish.Updated: Just tweaked the image a little. Added the border and muted the image a bit.

i wonder if he's an enemy soldier, who is hiding, otherwise he would try to show himself for a rescue. i think it is great artistically.

I like your idea. I was kind of thinking that he was an enemy soldier who had mentally broken down and was simply cowering with reason, paralyzed by fear. But I like hearing other people's ideas since it's left ambiguous.

I love the sense of depth in this and the muted colours in this version... works really well with the red of the blood.
