Took me long enough, but I finally got some Randall fan art posted here! Woo-hoo! 'Tis just a sketch, but I don't believe in putting stuff in the Scraps section, so it's staying here. Thing is, if I had any real use for the Scraps section, then I wouldn't be posting those pieces in a public forum in the first place, now wouldn't I?

Anywho...the main purpose of this sketch was just me trying to figure out my particular drawing style for Randall. I've toyed with a more simplified style before, but I like the balance this latest incarnation strikes between a Disney-esque approach and realism (does a bit more justice to the complexity of Randall's beautiful scale patterns, I hope). It seems to work for now, at least. Being the rabid perfectionist that I am, I could change my mind about that two months from now, LOL.

I'm thinking about doing a color study using this sketch, to see how that works out and if I can finalize a look. We'll see how things go.

Done with my trusty Sanford purple-leaded pencil for the underlying sketch, and with a Ticonderoga mechanical pencil for the outline.
