EDIT: Hey, look, I can actually pass this off as a shading tutorial now!This drawing is taking me so long that I got the brilliant idea to post it in stages. Then I decided, as long as I'm doing progress shots, I might as well talk about them while I do, and then once I'm done, I'll finally have that tutorial I said I was gonna make so, so long ago!
For now, I'll just say this: Layers. LOTS of Layers. Layers are your best friend. So is color overlay, multiply, screen, and all those other glorious layer styles. Oh and gaussian blur. I abuse that poor filter....

Aha! It has been a while but yay for tutorial~ It dose look nice but you are right in that it needs shading. I just find it humorous that you used a drawing of your charas death for the tutorial, as you have a habit of killing them off

That's the intention. I'm planning on slowing the pacing down and actually explaining the process I use to do the shading... when I actually bother to do it
I also find it amusing that I'm using a pic of a dead guy for this, but it's what I had available and not being able to post it has been killing me, so two for the price of one
Also, it's sort of cheating anyway, as the characters from this story have a nefarious habit of not staying dead. Otherwise this would be so tragic...

He hit the rock. It was rather instantaneous as it went straight to his brain, hence why he's still laying there...
