you can with Brawl Stage Studio, that program has no limits, all you need to use the stages is an SD card. In fact, the program forces you to make spawn points before you can save.

Well, you can somewhat control spawn points... they won't appear over spikes.

How on Earth do you fight in them? I can't figure out how you'd survive in them and knock the enemy out.

You first spawn inside mid level, I'm guessing you have to choose spawn and re-spawn points to.
There are exits, and just because you have no safe ground doesn't mean you can't move and attack.
These are more @ torture and challenge chambers.

What's up with the top right and bottom right ones? I don't get the symbols in those.

The RED -'s go up and down, the green -'s go side to side. The pinkish red box is their range.

Also, the Blue blocks are ICE that you don't have much traction on.
The Brown blocks blow you down when are under them.

So what are the reds and greens? Floating platforms? And the transparent blocks are their flight path? I think I get it now.
Heh, well you've got more creativity than me in making arenas for Brawl. Mine would mostly be rough terrain and obstacles, rather than traps and hazards.
Though, I'd LOVE to get a PSP and a copy of Rock Man Rock Man (Mega Man Powered Up) to make the craziest levels possible. I think I'd do much better at that.
