Final Fantasy 7 was one of the most epic videogames and RPG's it is the "Legend of Zelda Ocarina Time" (Legend of Zelda Ocarina Time Copyright to Nintendo) for RPG's that will be compared to it for time immemorial.
FF7 as it is often called among the rpg gamers, has one of the best "junction system" that had materia where certain combination could give you very different results. It is neat to notice that many fans want the materia to system to come back, and that most of the Squaresoft RPG gaming community says that all systems after 7 were horrible demons of garbage spawned from the depths of hell.

sorry don't mean to double post, but FF6 and FF7 both have thier strength and weaknesses. i'm really up in the air for which one is better.

well:
-FF1 was buy your magic.
-FF4(in japan) FF2(USA) was gain magic at certain levels
-ff6 was natural and junction espers to learn magic / espers.
-ff7 was junction materia to learn / use spells / summons
-ff8 was junction espers to use commands and magic.
-ff9 was natural and selective upgrades.
and so on and so forth.
