Here's a painting of Joseph and Emma Smith that I did for our church's directory. Joseph was the first prophet of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

I respect these two so much! Their marriage was taxed by prejudice, harassment, miscarriages, people chasing them out of their homes, Joseph being constantly arrested under false charges, and many attempts on Joseph's life. Through it all, they stayed strong and very much in love.

I love my church. I love the examples of Joseph and Emma Smith, and all of the great people who followed them. I also really, really love the Book of Mormon, not only because it's a great story, but because it gives me a lot of strength and courage in my daily life.
