During the final battle of the Great War while Mistral and Mantle's armies were in retreat one stayed behind to hold back Vale and Vacuo's advance. He was the head of the Masterson family, Darius the Silver-Eyed. Wielding the sword Lion's Thorn and using the power of Savage Beast Aspect he cut through soldier after soldier in his primal fury leaving piles of dead in his wake. all seemed lost until the King of Vale stepped forward to oppose him. They're fight was long and drawn out, but the King shattered Darius' blades and ran his sword through his heart. As he laid dying on the ground reverting to his normal elderly self he reached out for what remained of the broken Lion's Thorn speaking the words that were once inscribed on its blades. "Embrace Your Fear. Erase All Doubt. Above All Else Maintain Your Honor". The sentiment of dying Faunus inspired the King. When the war had ended he personally returned the body of Darius and the pieces of Lion's Thorn to the Mastersons as a show of respect to the family and their fallen leader. Never again would a family of Faunus be given such an honor.
