Description
The search had been ended. Word had only reached her moments ago but it had been days since the decision. Fen was devastated to say the least. She had held out hope that perhaps her fiancee would appear at the palace gates one day - smiling at her like he used to and chastising her for worrying so much. Her first shivali, Jun-Jin, had been an excellent distraction from her worries as she trained and bonded with the striped male. Now she ran to the beast for solace and comfort. No aid or servant would stop her no matter how many times they reached out to grab her. She had one destination in mind and would settle for nothing else.
She burst into the open field that Jun-Jin roamed - pausing only long enough to find him. Fen resumed her sprint, bare feet slamming into the earth as her loose hair flew wildly behind her. The large tiger-like shivali turned his enormous head toward her, ears perked and alert while his earrings glinted in the sun. He seemed to sense her distress and chuffed softly as she approached.
Once she was mere feet from him she let loose a heart broken wail and tears streamed down her cheeks. Fen threw her arms around the beast's neck and sobbed into his mane. Jun-Jin seemed to purr in effort to soothe her. Feeling her weight bear on him more as her legs gave out, he carefully lowered himself to the rocky ground and curled his body around his rider. She continued to cling to his mane and cry as he closed his eyes and continued purring.

Farther off in lands unknown, a funeral procession was filing down a mountain. One of the villagers paused to look back at the unmarked grave they had just created. The sword remained stuck in the rocky earth beneath the tree that rooted itself perilously close to a ravine as the red ribbons the warrior had kept in his possession flapped in the wind from their spot on the hilt. The corners of the villager's mouth pulled into a frown as he wondered who might be missing the nameless warrior and could only pray that they might find peace one day.
