Rainbow Dash must have forgot, In the heat of the moment, that only Pegasus can be on clouds.Anyway the semester is over and now that I’ve heartily failed my finals I can focus on pony. Well maybe.

Glad that fallacies like this exist in cartoons. But then again, RD could have compressed the cloud tightly enough to give it a density equal to that of a spongy mass.

No, actually, it would make sense that Twilight had casted the spell before.. I mean, why would they ALL go up there with a Balloon if only Fluttershy was able to walk in clouds?

The Academy wasn't on clouds, it was on a cliff made of solid ground. The only them they stood on clouds was when they fell, during which Dash made the cloud super dense, there was a whole scene showing this.
I mean they spent like 15 seconds showing Dash working so hard to compress the cloud. It was compressed in size by 4x and even changed color as it was compressed.

If they could walk on clouds Dash would just move one cloud under them and they would be it. (In fact compressing the cloud would have been risky because its a smaller target to land on.) Since they had a whole scene showing Dash condense the cloud and making it darker and thicker, its pretty obvious that this was done to help slop the earth ponies and unicorns.

Besides, there is already CONCRETE evidence in "Sonic Rainboom" that Earth Ponies and Unicorns cannot walk on clouds UNLESS they have a cloud walking spell casted on them.

I was wondering about this myself but then it occurred to me that twilight never goes into the clouds without a cloud walking spell active just in case.

I have the only logical explanation, Rainbow Dash just by the sheer awesomeness only span the cloud so fast that it grew dense enough that everyone was able to bounce on the cloud without falling through.
second of all the Academy was on a floating island so there were really no need for Twilight to used the cloud walking spell.

But the rest of the ponies probably didn't know that, did they? Fluttershy's the only one of them (besides RD) who could have seen the place before, as it's located on a flat-topped mountain at least as high as the average Equestrian cloud. Plus, the episode did show that parts of the Academy, at least, were made from clouds.

That's precisely what I thought! Although maybe the reason non-pegasus ponies can't walk on normal clouds is because they're not dense enough, so RD squeezed some together to make them denser. Idk. But at least Fluttershy survived! ^^

They planned to visit Rainbow Dash. In the sky. On the clouds. She probably used it before they went up in the air balloon, and the writers figured it would be superfluous to explain that.

Every episode should be able to stand on its own. It would have taken a whole ten seconds to mention that spell, if that's really what happened. We can't even confirm it, only speculate! Also, would Dash really be willing to make that assumption? I doubt it.
