I would say that this got too dark, but I love dark! You should see some of my paintings! Anyway, this came out very well. Excellent use of the textures!

I get a real feeling of earthiness...dark, rich, warm to the touch...great use of umber and purple (which surprises, like violets in winter)....always a joy!

I didn't mean for it to be quite so dark,
I wonder if my monitor is funny...
I want to make some brighter,
but equally warm and complex variations
of this... all colors have a place...
and DA could always use more
lightness!

Oh, don't change it! This is not dark in a negative way...there is dark in nature, the rich earth, the night sky, the bark of trees. All have there place and this is no exception. I enjoyed it...

Looks like discovering the unknown is dangerous.
This is very obscure and disturbing. Personally i see a huge forest in autumn, hiding fantastic but creepy creatures. Something is agressive in your work, but enthralling. Like an adventurer, we want to see more deeper and know what's going on this place.
The use of textures increases the darkness and the mystic outlines, i think

Well, interesting comment... I hadn't intended to make this
piece quite so dark as it now appears.... always influenced by the
forests and landscape though...But I was trying actually for
more brightness... I predict that I'll do a variation or two of this that'll
be brighter and possibly more populated...
Best to place it in context after seeing the rest of my gallery...
- since I am becoming more consistent in art...
I didn't put myself somewhere in the scene, in this,
as I often do...Any perspectives very much appreciated....
