...why the lack of courage????

I sometimes find the time to read

our relatively-older correspondence...

Its sometimes humbling...

Truly? Are there such jutting mountains in Brazil?

When were you last in S-America, svp?

I had a view similar to this from my office window

in my mountain-house...

I didn't think of mountains.

When you fly over the mouth of the Amazon, you can see the striking contrast between the "coffee-half waters"- half celadon green, from the river,

and the deep blue ones from the Atlantic. Your work exactly reminds me that.

You have forgotten that, between 1996-2000,I spent every winter in french Guyana,  with my daughter flying over  a new part of the forest every day...

my goodness, I certainly have forgotten

your stay in French Guyana... please tell me

more now, of that time!

If you get down in my gallery until "Marée haute à Montjoly-Guyane", You'll have just to read the comments to know everything.

The colors here are fabulous. Exactly the sort of abstract work I appreciate: no need to look for shapes or lines. The color is sufficient....- What mythical  mountains?

thanks! ...the colors are ever so much better on a large display, as I am fond of repeating..."mythical mountains" was a phrase I remembered from an exhinition of some wonderful Chinese landscape-painters....

I truly truly love the texture and color in this one ! I'm enjoying the titles too - and the fact that they are French - gives your work a sleeker, more professional appearance.

There's something about the language of love that makes everything sound heavenly xoxo

Totally unrelated to the conversation itself but I gotta say it anyway:

@ high falutin'!!!!!!!!!!
you are so fabulous. LOL. I haven't heard that in a long time .

Shhhhhhhh...gotta be careful...
I showed my age the other day by referring to some little punk on dA as a 'hooligan'.

And so the aging process begins and I turn into a carbon copy of my OWN mom. YIKES!

circle on DA... there are so many wonderful folks
though....
Hope to actually talk some day...
Are you on Skpe BTW?

What the hell do you want to change here?  You'll never find again such a subtle and refined  cold atmosphere. Don't try.

( It's true that this plan is...old, and you tend to forget your plans...)

I could improve this by adding....a meteora-like structure... ....a _new_ work...the old work shall stay since you admire it

I love this work as it is.

I  don't want to see it "improved" by any process whatsoever...

 It's perfect like that.

Changing one's old works is an obsession with you....

...oh, ok.... just wondering.... yes, I always see what I _should_'ve done... ignoring that many like what they first see...other people have said the same as you over the years... but I've always felt a compulsion to re-write/re-make/re-do....

ClairObscur16 In reply to artin2007 [2019-02-24 20:06:06 +0000 UTC]

Re-write, certainly!  Re-make is something else..." Cent fois sur le métier, remettez votre ouvrage, polissez-le sans cesse, et le repolissez..............."

I feel when your work is "achjeved"   In french, une oeuvre "achevée" doesn't only mean that it's finished, but it's perfectly finished, it doen't need to add anything anymore.  So is your work here.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

artin2007 In reply to ClairObscur16 [2019-02-26 20:00:06 +0000 UTC]

Its quite a good feeling, to know that that achevée in one's work can be detected...even when one can't detect it oneself....
