I agree that this is very lovely. I had to take a very close look at it to and I enjoyed it more. And I agree with Bark that the greens make the image very lively. I wish I could sit next to you when you are working. I would really love to see how you come up with your final images.

.. this one was not too mysterious....
I has about 1/3 of the image as a starting reference,
uncolored, from some old book + scanned,
reversed, merged +morphing/warping ,
touched up unsymmetrical things,
added my own coloring, and a few new layers
with misc small objects added...
I will not kill anyone who passes these secrets along...
Its very diff. for abstracts usually!
BTW Have you seen Lizole's and fleetofgypsies work?
I want to be able to do collage like that!
best

fleetofgypsies, yes, although not in a while (I was just thinking yesterday while I was making my rounds and doing some catch up that I should go by and see what's new), but not lizole. Okay, so I did just now! Thanks for pointing me in that direction and reminding me about fleetofgypsies.

some imagination, prolific....
I love his and lizole's collages...
Hope you had a good thanksgiving....
Here, out with the children

beautiful. i disaagree with irish-echoes about the green, i think it makes it lively and gives the eye a point to keep referencing back to. it also adds a little depth. and it IS echoed elsewhere. rather unusual, i like it!

A Greek or Roman Fresco? An Alma-Tadema perhaps? I think the green is distracting. It pulls the focus from what lurks just beyond, is it the lady or the tiger?

...you noticed... I got almost exactly
some of Alma-Tadema's colors
- or reminscent of them....certainly
could use more in this picture....
Yeah, that green is mean to be a little distracting
and clash.... and something more is needed to
mitigate that....

I am really enjoying your recent works! How many layers in this one?

LightSource In reply to oibyrd [2006-11-18 03:44:33 +0000 UTC]
...just a few actually, there
was more work with manipulation of the original
image, than new layers....

... got it... wanted to submit to that
contest, but one of their rules
was the the picture must not have already been
posted in the nudes.... now, I must wait probably
months before any recent diet results
are evident! I notice too that only twenty-something
skin gets any consideration usually,
regardless of the shape.... funny about that...
many regards

hmmm - well I know that folks generally do touchups or airbrushing to their skin - even the younger folks have isues
did you need me to help with that part? I'd be happy to if you need me.
