Story:
Across all the legends there were many stories of a Princess Zelda being captured or disarmed, always needing the hero to save her, but never before had she heard a legend of her turning into glass! Despite being captured and helpless, Zelda didn’t exactly mind her position right now. Passing a mirror as she was put onto her pedestal, she noticed just how beautiful her glass figure was, the way she caught the light made her feel so great. Maybe once she was saved, she’d spend more time like this every so often.

Notes:
After over a year I finally figured out how to do transparency and glass-like stuff. If I was making real glass I probably would have kept some of the shaders down and made her even more transparent. It was a difficult balance between her features being visible and her still looking like glass. Eventually I settled on turning up the metallic setting, while reducing the range on her subsurface refraction in order to make her show up better. At first it was super hard to see that she was there. I’m considering doing more like this and if I do I’ll try and play around with the settings in order to get her to look better.

I decided to make this an animation because I liked how she looks as the camera rotates around her. It does a good job of showing how the light refracts.
One thing I want to try with the glass is having her encased in a block of transparent material, like she’s frozen in ice or something. I’ll have to look into how to get it to look right though.
