Okay, again, I'm shutting up. Heh. (Reading all comments above. Knows it is because I am older.)
Of the two designs, I liked this one the best. Good luck with all this. You are doing really wel with it.

you got a great future ahead of you
lol i mean seriously your works great, i love how you assimilate styles rather than copy them directly which alot of people do
keep up the great work i love the use of colours
am terrible with colour but this is so easy on the eye
only thing i would change is to move the ox of text on the far left into the middle of the page where it says hello
it'll make the whole image look cleaner
keep up the good work

this was all done in photoshop, i had no idea illustrator even existed. i have been so overwhelmed with information in the past few months. like, i only learned what vectors were about two months ago. putting all of the knowledge together has been crazy, i have sooo many projects ahead.
after i make the design in photoshop, i write the code for it to work as a site. as for frames, yes i used iFrames, they work wonders. i used a script to make the backgroundimage 'static' so that it would stay in place as the text would roll.
but now, i am learning Flash! yay! i started a few weeks ago.
the new site will be extremely wacky.
haha my friend had a problem with his spacebar as well, he got mad and yanked it out. [link] -use-other-keys-to_make_spaces_instead. it was craaazy.

yeah that actually help me a little bit, lol. But you didn’t insults my intelligence because my vocabulary is pretty well rounded. Thank for looking at my page also. I was just wondering how to do it because iv been trying all these different stiles and for most of them I have be successful but to create a 1/2 painted look or even close was hard. I’m going to keep giving it a try till I get it alight. but thanks and keep in touch peace.

oh lord. haha. ahhh, im not sure which parts youre referring to. but hmm ill explain.
well, it took me ages. i made this interface before i knew anything about vectors, or adobe illustrator. and even still, now, after i have gotten into that, i havnt gotten deep enough to figure out how to make a really nice 'race track' type design. i cant seem to get my lines ("lanes" of the track) to be equal and porportionate, like a real track. so.. hmm, i made a sketch of the design i wanted on paper, scanned it in, and fooled around with adobe photoshop. probably ended up with about 30 layers, and i fiddled with (many, many) guide bars, circle tools, rounded-edged square shapes, paintbuckets, erasers, "stroke" tool, blah blah. it didnt look a lot of effort, and it ended up not looking extremely clean and perfect and nice, so i was dissapointed. i thought i should distract the viewer with something... so i didnt have to trash all my work.
i imagined the design on a wall, and myself painting it. so i took a picture of myself, painting the wall. in adobe, i used eraser and selection tools and paintbuckets to get my desired effect of having a silhouette type look (and this effect is a lot easier now that i have gotten into vectors)... made it all black, placed it on top, changed the opacity around just a little to make it seem somewhat like a shadow... hmm.
bah, im a perfectionist though, so ive been making a new design.
not sure how much of a response you were expecting.. haha but hey hoped i helped somehow. any other questions or whatever you please... more'n happy
bout to go see your gallery, wondering what kind of things you do. sorry if ive said something that kind of insults your intelligence, i should have probably checked you out before i said anything. oh well.

Wow... You're a great graphic designer. My parents are both very much in the graphic/advertising design business, and I've seen some pretty awesome stuff, but, i mean, this portfolio rocks!

A catchy name with a site that looks like it could have some form of candy flavour.
