So beautiful! I like the composition.

By the way, we are preparing a drawing contest based on mythological monsters, perhaps you would like to participate. Hope we don't bother you. Here you have the info:Β  www.facebook.com/events/311574…

Cheers!

Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh!

I remember this comic! Oh, my gosh! I always wondered what happened to it! Once upon a time, I helped proofread an early chapter when you posted on Tokyopop (this was some years ago, I think?) Anyway, man! The point is...I always remembered this comic. Like something that haunts you and you remember and then you can't find it again! I had a beta of Fallen Moon in a zip folder on my computer, and every now and then I'd pull it up and think, "Whatever happened to this girl and her lovely artwork, eh?!" But as soon as I saw this artwork, I knew it was you. Gah, I always loved that narcoleptic guy! And the whole design -- it's just as beautiful as ever!

I'm so glad to have stumbled upon this. You're on of the best artists I've ever come across, and your designs and use of color always stuck in my mind from back then! It's only chance that I find this picture and comic again! So, it's on it's own site now instead of Wirepop? Or is it the same as Fallen Moon?

Anyhow, I'm tickled pink to have found your work again! I"m going to definitely bookmark you and your site so I don't lose track of it ever again!

OHHHH!! Raze from Dhelix Studios right?!!!! That's right you did proofread an old version of my Fallen Moon comic when I posted it on the TP forums! Actually I lost the manuscripts for that version, then was spending a looooong time revising the story and character designs over and over (also renamed it too) before I was going to contact you again... But by then a long time had passed and I hadn't heard from you on your livejournal or DA account (missed the DA journal entry apparently ), I thought you were probably very busy and that it'd be very rude to contact you after so long...

Still you were an awesome proofreader and I was always trying to keep in mind of your help and critiques on the old comic when I was working on my current webcomic. I'm sad to say that my dialogue is as clunky as ever. I'm so glad you're still on DA! *glomps*

Haha. Yesh, that's the old name. You have a good memory... (I actually closed the old accounts and got a new name by myself...! XD) Yeah, I sort of lost track of everything for a while and since I closed the old account of Raze, I lost a lot of lot of contacts from back then, too! But I always remembered your comic because it was beautiful and I had the zip file saved to immortalize it... I still looked at it from time to time.

Oh, it's not a bother... I just honestly always enjoyed the comic, and more than anything, I was excited to find it again. I'm glad that you kept at it. Man, is your new stuff beautiful! Song of the Frost Moon... is such a beautiful website. *_* I'm glad I can follow your work now there, too! I always love reading Chinese-flavored stories. The art and themes seem to be this unique mix of elegant and yet in places very bold, too. I looked through Spring Snow last night. I love the mix of realistic faces with the brush strokes of the clothing and all the textures...~ And I thought the writing flowed just fine. I loved how your showed us the characters... And good LORD your coloring! It's still something that knocks the breath out of me! >.>

I hate to hear how you lost your manuscripts. That's a total bummer... Ugh... But I saw how on the comic page it's named "Stranger in the Forest." (I like it.) I still hope one day you find the means to finish it, because I always loved it.

Gosh! I can't believe you still look at those old pages. *blush*

The project's been a real struggle, and it drives me up the wall at times but it was always my dream project so that why I've kept up with it for so long. On the other hand, Spring Snow is just an experimental comic. It was supposed to be the testing ground to see how well I could handle this sort of style, help me build up on the world of SotFM/Fallen Moon and if I could handle webcomics again. So far I've managed to keep it up for 40 pages...

I do very much want to continue from where I left off with "Strangers in the Forest", though I've been mulling over whether to do it as a webcomic or illustrated/picture novel, or to even go back to just black and white to churn out pages faster (but that makes me sad to not be able to work in color ). I haven't been able to do more than a page a week w/ Spring Snow and it frustrates me because the pacing is so slow. *sigh*

Losing the manuscripts might have been for the better, though admittedly it did bum me out for a while!

Ahhhh, you have a webcomic too! I must check it out!! *glomps!*

40 pages is great, and there's nothing wrong with experimenting. I think it's awesome to do. At least you've managed to keep drawing...and I think the style is beautiful...

Ans good luck with getting a new and improved manuscript out. I'm torn with you on the format issue, because as a fan, I very much love your color work, too. But for the sake of your sanity, you could always compromise, like break into shorter chapters and include some color pages at the beginning of each? Your color choices and blending is so pretty...I think it's a real strength!

Thank you! Hmmm, sadly I don't remember how I did the glowy parts. I think I was just playing around with the overlay/soft light layer mode... Maybe this tutorial could help you instead? [link]
Yep, I made the pattern myself, with inspiration from origami paper.
