Description
Sarah's prize: the head of the beggar bird, which Jareth disguised himself as in the Labyrinth tunnels.I loved that vulture-headed costume, and I love the idea of Sarah flaunting her victory with spoils, something that belonged to the King.
I hate working with dark colors and severe shadows, and I'm still not very good at it, so I thought I'd practice. Dark fabric is way less of a brainache than light. I don't even know if that makes sense, but oh, it's true.
I realized too late that the little skull pinned to the hat is a tiny humanlike skull and not a rodent's. Even creepier! A faerie skull? A tiny goblin?
It's only a costume, just rags and bones, but what's Jareth's is Jareth's. No doubt he'll make it a mission to get it back and teach her a little lesson...

simply stunning and a very interesting take on the labrynth. You know I've wanted to do fanart for both this and dark crystal for quite some time now. Wow look at undermotivated me and even if I did it would be NOTHING in comparison to this. I must check out the rest of your galla and congrats on the daily dev.

It definately shows how fan-art can be original as well. I could watch that movie over and over again (I have watched that movie over and over again). I like the expression on her face.

I dunno if I've commented on this yet or not. I just gotta say that this is probably one of my favorite Labyrinth fan-fic pictures. It looks like haughty little Sarah, especially how she seems to be flaunting the costume. Gah... this would make a great continuation of the story... something with this in it.
LOVE Love love

Hello - I've "favorited" several examples of your work just now, but I think this one is the one I like best so far. (Having just been introduced to your art that may change...)
I love the expression on Sarah's face here and the mood of the piece. It's exceptional, poised and a story in and of itself - thank you!

Do you apply the markes to the pencil line image, and THEN add the ink lines? Or do you use some other process? Because the inked lines are so stark and clean.

I pencil, then ink, then marker. The ink really stands out.

I would say it is good you confront your self to work with dark colors. I wanted to say already before this, but It seems to me the best moment now.
I am taking fancy to your linework. I am sure it requiers a strong firm good controled hand. And not always it is a good result with good lines, but you seem to master the composition very well.
Often go lines lost in colors or technique.
I am glad I can watch your lines so precisely in every picture.
I can imagine your works on tarrot cards or calender. Also a bookmark would be a true eyecandy...I am sure of it.
Have a nice day.

Very striking. I really enjoy the half relaxed, half triumphant look on her face. I suppose you could say that the mask is a representation of his crown, so to speak. King of one of the lowest forms of mythical creature, but nevertheless still a King.

I think it's funny, in all the Labyrinth fanfiction I've been reading lately, they make it sound like being Goblin king is some sort of lowly, humiliating position in the magical world. And I'm like... Hey, it's not fuckin' Rivendell, but come on! It's pretty god damn great!

You wouldn't believe how many times I logged in just to bring this picture up. My husband came over to the computer and said, "wow, you really like that one, you've been staring at it all night." Oh so true. I bring it up and I just feel so awe inspired and happy. It is without a doubt one of the best laby art ever. Oh i want to wax poetry and lavish you with words and praise but you have sufficiently broken my brain.
All I can say is you have inspired me, this is dust compared to yours but here, an answer to your challenge: [link]

(blush) Thank you, you know that would be uber fantastic! Kind of like tag with art lol, and thank YOU, your "The Trophy" is the kind of artwork I am endeavoring toward. I know it takes time and practice so I'm aspiring, and oh gosh it's so beautiful, like I said earlier, I just bring it up and stare in awe and happiness. Oh to be able to draw like you... to capture them the way you can.... Thank you Lily!!!

I hope you do! Exploring a new medium is way fun. If you want to start using markers, I hugely recommend buying a set online, where it's much cheaper. I bought like six Copics straight-up, and it cost as much as a dozen Letrasets online!

You've seriously out done yourself with this one. Sara looks so amazingly perfect. lol You got her cute little concave nose and her thick eyebrows juuuust right. Both the hat and the cloth look so right. I'm jealous of you talent. And I haven't even started on her cocky little glance she's got goin' on there. Jareth should be squirming in his throne right about now. I love this, I love her, and I love you! Thank you for being a Labyrinth fan!!
I wish this were a print!! But too bad you can't make it one... lol Maybe you can deal it to me under the table?? This would be the coolest poster ever. EVER.
Well, I can dream can't I?

Thank you! I really love her turned-up nose and her eyebrows. They give her face its character and beauty.
Ha ha! Oh, Jareth's forming a retaliation plan as we speak.
A print under the table! ;D What size do you want? Biggest I can do is, I think 24 x 11. The print shop down the street does them for me sometimes.

goddessOFtheSUN In reply to lily-fox [2008-01-27 19:14:38 +0000 UTC]
haha 24x11 sounds great. I'm not making any promises, but how much money would you like for it? I know the shipping isn't going to easy. You live over seas, right? I'm a little short on money right now but as soon as I get the money its a yes on the print. *pushes the stomped copywrite off her desk* >>; heh heh...

lily-fox In reply to goddessOFtheSUN [2008-01-27 20:53:46 +0000 UTC]
Well, you could make a lot of arguments about the copyright on this one. It's not character-specific, and the hat is a little different. But whateva.
God, I hate that question, because I never know what to as for. Just let me see how much it costs to print up and how much to send. If I just roll it and put it in a mailing tube, it shouldn't be expensive.
