So I broke down and watched Legend, and that same night had a vividly romantic dream about Tim Curry as Darkness. As you do. I can't be the only good girl who has a crush on the devil, can I?I didn't care for the movie aside from Darkness, and was especially put off by the character Lily, so I wondered who would be appropriate to pair with His Evilness. Saint Agape (of Barbucci & Canepa's Sky Doll) just kind of inserted herself, and she's perfect. She's an embodiment of goodness and sacrifice, of sensuality and a pure heart -- and they still have things in common. If Darkness is going to fall in love with someone, I want it to cripple him. I want him to be completely defeated by her. I want him to give in. That's what good love does to you.
I would almost guarantee that these two have never been drawn on the same paper together. I also almost guarantee (less confidently) that this is the last time I'll be drawing Darkness. But I said that about Bowie, so. You never know.

The only good thing about Lily was that -AWESOME- outfit and that wonderful but confusing dancing figure. I think as a kid I actually use to rewind that scene on VHS just to watch the masked figure frolic about. Damn thing's probably imprinted on my subconcious for life now.
I....have no idea who Saint Agape is. But now I feel I should do some investigating! Especially with an image like this, and after reading the comments below... I know you did this image way back in 08, but I just discovered it in someone's favourites and I'm surprised I haven't come upon it before. Especially since I recognize your gallery and adore your works!

Well, Tim Curry completely rocked that movie (and in fact, totally stole the outdid from Tom Cruise in my honest opinion). And I agree, Lily was just... wrong, in the movie. I felt that as a kid when I first watched it, even though I didn't really get it at the time, but it's a lot more obvious to me now. A character like Agape though.. huh.. I think you've got a point there, that she would've been more fitting... but at the same time, it would've made it a much different movie. A much more -mindblowingly- awesome movie too. If only because, knowing what little we do of Agape's character so far, she would've likely tried to save Darkness from -himself-, and how amazing would that have been to see?

I love that it's gettin' your wheels to turning. C: I'd be totally over the moon if someone were to write fic about these two. And I like it because, you know, Agape was not without her faults -- it seems she could be easily persuaded, and she sometimes lost herself in sexual euphoria. But how GREAT would that be? A great evil and a great good sharing something so excellent?

Well, I finally know the title of this movie! Thanks, I remeber watching but bloody hell couldn't remember the damn name of it! Yea, lily wasn't all the perfect for the darkness...but I felt kinda bad for him...all he wanted was love. But, I agree, if hes gonna love some one it gotta bring him to his knees, he has to be consumed by love and the desire to see his love happy.

I ended up finding my copy of Sky Doll in an issue of Heavy Metal magazine a few years back. All three current issues in one book, with the exception of the prequel, which made me sad in my heart place (until I found it online, anyways).
