So I broke down and watched Legend, and that same night had a vividly romantic dream about Tim Curry as Darkness. As you do. I can't be the only good girl who has a crush on the devil, can I?I didn't care for the movie aside from Darkness, and was especially put off by the character Lily, so I wondered who would be appropriate to pair with His Evilness. Saint Agape (of Barbucci & Canepa's Sky Doll) just kind of inserted herself, and she's perfect. She's an embodiment of goodness and sacrifice, of sensuality and a pure heart -- and they still have things in common. If Darkness is going to fall in love with someone, I want it to cripple him. I want him to be completely defeated by her. I want him to give in. That's what good love does to you.
I would almost guarantee that these two have never been drawn on the same paper together. I also almost guarantee (less confidently) that this is the last time I'll be drawing Darkness. But I said that about Bowie, so. You never know.

So...I'm not the only one to find Tim Curry attractive in that movie? Of course, horror movies make me...um...well, let's just say I can't watch them because they give me "nightmares". LULZ

Did you see the director's cut? Its actually a lot more creepy and dark and I think it turns out that the whole mess was a dream of Lily's... I liked it a lot better.
And yes. Darkness was the awesome.

No, the director's cut doesn't portray it as a dream but it WAS a much better version. I definitely like that one better than the American released version. The European version was very cool too.

Funny, I watched that movie recently and thought to myself:
1-Lily has the attention span of a goldfish and seems quite painful to live with on a daily basis.
2-Tom Cruise, I dislike him in anything and everything (if you love him, no problem with me, tastes and stuff), but he just looks unsanitory in this movie.
3-I still actually like this movie.

Saint Agape is a very cryptic character to qualify, so far.
In the story, it's told that her banishment was initiated by conflicts between her followers and her sister's followers (correct if I'm wrong, I haven't read Sky Doll in ages)...but your picture caused me to create a theory:
In the beginning, Agape and Ludovica ruled in equilibrium, until personal happened between them (possibly Agape fell in love with some guy and Ludovica was pissed off ) and that struggle reflected on their followers, so she was banished and her sisters took over the entire control.

I have that crush from time to time, and I love that movie. I found the offers of the Darkness more tempting than Tom's quest to rescue his princess.
I get the same crush on Hellboy as well. Its the horns and the red skin I think. Maybe the idea of loving the forlorn.
Something about being offered something tender by something that considers itself unlovable. It is very irresistible.

Fantastic picture. I didn't know who Agape was, but then I looked her up and I totally agree with you about her being the perfect match for Darkness. The whole evil in love with pure good is a weakness of mine, no matter how corny it can be. And I have a huge soft spot for Tim Curry! When he speaks it's like I can hear his voice all the way in my belly. Him and Alan Rickman have got to have the sexiest voices ever. My toes curl just thinking about it
Just wanted to let you know how much I love this picture. I hope you draw more of this couple. Agape is such an interesting character and I want to see more of her.

I totally agree. I started another drawing of these two last night, and I like how it's going.
It could be the feminist in me that loves the idea of a woman (or female entity) bringing down a powerful man (or male entity) with nothing outside her own goodness and charm.

I love this piece... I love the image of the large, powerful demon,bowing before a seeming flower girl. Who is just so delicately placing a crown on his head. Just. Gah. I can't describe what this image does.
