When I first went looking for Legion fanfic, I rolled my eyes at the amount of Gabriel/Audrey stuff -- their only interaction in the movie was choking each other out in the backseat of a cruiser before making an abrupt exit through the windshield. But the fanfic authors really gave them both new life, and now they're one of my favorite couples in fiction.From the top down:
Audrey's huggin' on her angel because he sort of always looks like he could use a hug. As someone married to a big guy of her own, it's hard not to want to hang off them for fun.
Audrey slices a cake with one of Gabriel's blade feathers. Anybody who gets the MST3K reference has my love.
And Gabriel continues his campaign to get Audrey to give a crap about philosophy (as begun in Ghosts of Babylon ), but she'd much rather stick to her novels. She's reading Chris Moore's Island of the Sequined Love Nun.

It wasn't a bad movie, it's just that they cut so much out and that made it bad. My friends and I think they should have made it into a mini series- like The Walking Dead. Where they have to survive a month till the baby comes then they have to survive in a post apocalyptic world where they are still hunted by possessed people. I like the fanfics more than the movie in most cases because alot of the fans really try to develop the characters and they continue where the story left off (which I was like WTF!). Thanks for making the fanart, so cute and matches the story great.

I agree totally with the wanting to hang off big guys thing-My boyfriend and I have been told by complete strangers that we make an adorable couple, particularly with him being this big nearly seven foot tall bear of a man and me being barely five feet, tiny girl, and yet he's a big gentle teddy bear. And ticklish.

Totally unrelated, but...something I saw yesterday that I thought might give you a laugh. We were re-organizing a storage unit at one of those big storage warehouse things so we could fit everything from two into one so we could only be paying for one, and walking by one of them, my boyfriend's nephew and I saw this old hippie guy, totally naked, happily duct taping himself to a chair for no discernible reason. He left later, thankfully clothed, with noticeably less body hair.
California is weird.

I never understood the pairing either. It seems like he never even really noticed her, even when she was TRYING to choke him. it seemed like a fly attempting to distract a lion, only succeeding in a flick of an ear, if you'll accept my analogy. BUT, I must say, you do make some very cute fan art of them.
I still stand by the Michael/Gabriel pairing strongly, though.

A lot of people freak out because they're brothers. Doesn't bother me at all.
I'm working on getting more people more material for that couple, though the movie itself isn't as popular as it should be. Admittedly, the movie wasn't fabulous.

I browsed a few of the Legion FanFics after the movie and I didn't get why they were all Gabriel/Audrey pairings either. I was, like, "where did THIS come from?" Fic-ers are hopeless love interest addicts, smashing random folks together whether it makes sense or not.
Some of them are well written, seemingly able to really understand them as individuals, and some of the stories by themselves are good, but I'm still wary about the certainty at which the Fic-er group sees those two as a unit.
The movie smacks highly of the "Prophecy" trilogy and the other stories of this type that came before. It's the standard "one angel does what God needs, not what he orders" setup - one against many - and it came out poorly. That being said, I adored the fact someone actually gave Paul Bettany a real role, and that he isn't stuck for life doing those horrid chick-flicks they were starting to stick him in.
And yes, Kevin was scary in this one. I would hate to get on his character's bad side. ANY of them. He and Paul were the only good parts of the movie. I just wish it had been less CGI and more man-to-man combat.

I don't really see the connection to The prophecy because that Gabriel was rebellious because he was jealous of humans this gabe was a solder following orders

I particularly love the last picture. The scene you mean was so much more forceful (Audrey was angry, Gabe was being controlling), it would have been downright scary to watch. This one looks so relaxed. A calm (if unhappy) Audrey ignoring a worried-for-her-brain's-wellbeing Gabe: it's like taking a look into a near future, without a vindictive God on their heels. I hope they get to a point like that in GoB.

I have to say I watched Legion and when I first saw you draw Audrey and Gabriel as a couple I was like huh? *scratches head* And then I read the fanfic you recommended and holy ballsβ¦my head exploded from awesomeness!! I canβt believe I missed the potential of this pairing and Iβm so happy you introduced me to this couple. The dynamic between them is so great and it even has me plotting ideas to write fanfiction again featuring them. But anyways, just thought Iβd say I love your drawings and how you depict such sweet, tender moments. You have a really great style and I always enjoy seeing your work!

I thought the entire movie Legion was offensively sacrilegious, but your rendition of the characters is cute. It softens my hatred a bit.
