I've been really impressed with some of the Toy Story fanmixes I've heard, and I wanted to make one of my own to share. This all came together pretty quickly. I wanted to make up a nice cover for it, a nod to the Gorillaz dub album Laika Come Home .You can download the music and front and back covers of the fanmix here .
I don't draw Buzz enough, and I find the more I do, the more I like him. He's an incredibly genuine character, totally selfless and without ego (once he made the Big Realization). He will do anything it takes to make sure everyone is safe and happy. He's the consummate chivalrous hero.
I can't imagine anyone who's ever been in space could not be totally humbled by the experience. I'm sure all cosmonauts have their moments of being paralyzed with awe. I was kind of going for that. Drawing glow-in-the-dark stuff is fun.

As you may already know, Buzz is one of my favorite characters. There's just something about the purity of those blue eyes (I'm a sucker for blue eyes 
Lily, this piece is simply amazing. As a child, space had always fascinated me (I remember persuading my parents into buying me a telescope, which I absolutely adored!), and even today I find stars one of Nature's most beautiful creations.
I'm sure Buzz often wonders what it would be like to be a real space ranger and see the stars up close. After he discovered he was a toy, he must've been completely disconsolate. I imagine simple things like looking at the stars at night or even searching constellations on the internet must bring him an enormous fascination. And this piece just captures that moment so perfectly. The intensity of his gaze is phenomenal, the lighting, coloring, even the title of this deviation is clever and perfect
Also, I love his glow-in-the-dark feature, so extra points for you on that one!

Honest to God, I have never, never turned out so much art so quickly before. I've never had this much FUN drawing anything before. It'll still take me forever to draw something if I'm not super crazy about it. I'm a heel-dragger for sure.
He IS altruistic. I love how, without a thought for his own safety, he'll just up and go after somebody who needs help. Like when Al drives off with Woody, he just runs the hell out there and jumps on his car. Like, that's serious shit for a little toy. The trunk could've cleaved him in half, and he was just like, Damn! He got away!
I never thought about it, but looking at the stars probably depressed him for a while, after learning he was just a toy. Like finding out you can't go home again. Poor babe. Jessie will help him forget. ^u^

Oh he's adorable 8D His lil' swirl chin used to always get me when I was a wee lass. I'll be like" That is the best motherfucking dimple ever." I like the bags under his eyes giving him a surprised kind of look.

Random question/statement?: You. Buzz/Jessie. I would die. I know you said before that there's a certain genuine pure love about them (and, honestly, I can't remember if you were intimidated or not about drawing them), but I think you would rock it beyond imagination.
