When I browse through galleries I often find people who submitted every single page of their calendars as deviations or they use the wrong size/aspect ratio or they make mistakes in the general design. Here is a little walk through that can help you to figure out the print submission procedure.

The design of your calendar pages is left to your imagination but you shouldn't include the calendar (dates) itself because this is part of the actual DA product already!

IMPORTANT: Please keep all files in the upload area (the box that pops up when you click "Adjust Image") until you click "Submit Print" and the procedure is completed. Don't delete them after you have filled the slots! Otherwise the files will get lost and you can't submit the print.

Info: If you don't have a print account you cannot change the default prize!

Basically not. Just the time to process the print offer. It's usually a short time.

thank you so much!
just one thing i wanted to ask, what do i do with the dates?
do i have to put them on the image or will deviantart just put the automaticly under the image?
and if it will will i be able to choose how they will look like?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Lilyas In reply to Fr-0st [2013-04-29 16:34:43 +0000 UTC]

You don't have to put them on the images but you can. There will be a standard calendar on the back side of each image. Nothing additionally will be printed on your images.

Thanks a lot for this! I want to make my first calendar. Just a question though; do you think it's a good idea to put a small watermark on each picture?

I did exactly the same, but it did not work. I uploaded all 14 images. 3 times. It took me 4-5 hours. After I clicked on submitt print, it mentioned the same problems again and again again, removing all uploaded images, so I had to upload them again with the same result

something might be missing here

O.o Das is doof.....

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Lilyas In reply to NinaStrieder [2010-08-23 12:48:47 +0000 UTC]

Nein, die Kalenderseiten mit den Tagen kann man nicht gestalten. Leider.

Ja, Fanart darf man nicht zum Verkauf anbieten, auch wenn Du es selbst gemalt hast.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

NinaStrieder In reply to Lilyas [2010-08-23 13:32:45 +0000 UTC]

Hm, you're probably not the one I should ask this, but the FAQ didn't help me. While I'm uploading the images, there are a few months missing from where I'm able to upload to. Like, there's January, February, then April, but no March in between!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Lilyas In reply to noodlesqueen [2010-07-18 23:08:36 +0000 UTC]

You mean a few months are missing in the submission process?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

noodlesqueen In reply to Lilyas [2010-07-19 01:10:16 +0000 UTC]

No, they are missing from where I can upload them. Like beneath them you click "adjust image" to pick a file, yeah, there a few missing.

What is the suggested dpi (resolution) for calendar images?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Lilyas In reply to PorcelainPoet [2008-12-11 16:43:28 +0000 UTC]

Minimum is 150 dpi but recommended is 300 dpi.

PorcelainPoet In reply to Lilyas [2008-12-11 20:57:47 +0000 UTC]

See I did 300 and it still told me my dpi was too low...

wtf DA....

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Lilyas In reply to PorcelainPoet [2008-12-11 21:31:09 +0000 UTC]

Hm, did you keep your high resolution files in the upload area until you (tried to) finish(ed) the procedure or have you deleted them before you have clicked "submit print"?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

PorcelainPoet In reply to Lilyas [2008-12-11 23:17:09 +0000 UTC]

I thought I kept them in the upload area.
Are you talking about the box that pops up
where you upload your image for each month..
or are you talking about each source image?
I didn't delete anything except for each old file when I
was uploading a new one in the upload box (I'm talking
about the one that pops up where you adjust your image
and select the file to use for the month, hope that make sense)
That might be what the confusion is about.

Tell me if I'm doing it right or not... lol.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Lilyas In reply to PorcelainPoet [2008-12-12 01:54:38 +0000 UTC]

I am talking about the same box and you may NOT delete anything before you have hit the "Submit Print" button!!!!! Keep ALL 14 files in that box until the procedure is completed.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

PorcelainPoet In reply to Lilyas [2008-12-12 03:10:48 +0000 UTC]

I didn't realize what you meant until a little while ago.
The good news is I finally figured that out.
I don't know why I was so confused about it. But anyways,
here is my completed calendar: [link]

Just a quick question - where does the money go after you buy/sell a calendar?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Lilyas In reply to smile-in-ur-sleep [2008-12-06 02:23:32 +0000 UTC]

It goes to DeviantART. The artists get their payment once in a quarter.

Every 3 months.

Thanks for uploading this. I have a question though. I noticed some people have been putting the name of the month on their pages... is this necessary to do? I mean does DA put the name of the month below where your calendar image will be, or do we have to do it?

I wanted to be clear about this so that I don't ruin my calendar by either having the month names or not having them. Your thumbnail images on your calendar are small so I can't tell whether or not you did this.
