Description
When I browse through galleries I often find people who submitted every single page of their calendars as deviations or they use the wrong size/aspect ratio or they make mistakes in the general design. Here is a little walk through that can help you to figure out the print submission procedure.
The design of your calendar pages is left to your imagination but you shouldn't include the calendar (dates) itself because this is part of the actual DA product already!
All important questions concerning calendars are answered in the following article:
FAQ #698: How should I design and submit a calendar?

You can easily see the pages of a calendar in a decent size by clicking on the print link and then browse every single page. On my calendars I use the names of the months but it is not necessary if you don't want that. The actual print product is looking like this .

This is the way to submit it as a print, but is there a way to make it free and printer-friendly at the same time? Or should I just stick to putting them up as seperate deviations or maybe a large .ZIP file?
Nice tutorial by the way, very helpful :3

I am not sure what you want. What do you mean with "free" and "printer-friendly"? If you want to give away the digital print files sure you can pack them in a zip and make it free for download.

Yeah, that's what I meant- no cost for people to download if they want it and not having to buy it from dA. Sorry for the confusion I will put them in a .zip file then, thanks

Dear Lily, I figured out how to submit a calendar and all that but I often wondered how wide the space needs to be next to the actual image for the calendar dates in order to avoid that numbers go into the actual image. How wide is the margin you have left ?
I ask just in case I ever manage to make a calendar myself, even though I start to doubt that I ever will because I already wanted to make one last year and this year and never got around to it in time

I don't get it, i upload everything, from the folder I have it as, I use the templates from the deviantart faqs and I'm still getting "Do Not Meet minimum DPI" and "Can't find File" That's been my problem since the beginning, and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong...

You don't really need to use any kind of template for that. You can design your calendar pages to your heart's desire! You could browse our 2009 calendar section in the Shop for some inspiration.
