I use Mold Star 15 Slow - That allows you to work in a decent speed, especially when you mold multiple pieces.

Thank you so much for replying and for the information.

I can't tell you how intimidated I am to mold/cast these doll pieces.

I hope you don't mind me asking you more questions.Β
Do you use Smooth-Cast for your doll parts.Β
Have you ever had an issue with the heads being to heavy?

You're very welcome!

No, go ahead - ask me what you want

I use polyurethane resin form Tap Plastics.

I never had problems with this yet. You can make a slush castΒ -->Β  Β and control the weight of the head with this method. If the head is too heavy in the end, you can use a dremel to carve resin back out of the head - a dusty annoying work!

Do you think there are some items that you should do a two part mold for all the time? Or will this method work for almost anything

LimitlessEndeavours In reply to omfgitsbutter [2013-03-13 20:20:26 +0000 UTC]

It depends on the object you want to mold. Sometimes a two-part mold is more ideal due risk of failures or destruction while the molding and casting process. It's up to you to figure out and choose the right way!
