They look like they're burning! Sorry. I'm reading the texture as fire for some reason.

Now that you've said that, I'm seeing the same. Hah. :]

It seems symbolic in a way. Some neighborhoods don't even have them anymore.

How exactly did you make this? Well, however you made it, it's beautiful.

Ah, thank you! It's etching ink on a metal plate and then put through a high-pressure press. (:

Are those scratches, the white 'phonechords' or what they are named? Those work very well, imho

Yeah, they're supposed to be... my hands are just really shaky. Hah. Thank you so much. (:

oh, but I thought that just worked very good. Especially the shaky lines

I'm not sure what to make of those loose wires between the pylons, but other than that it shows a definite progression from your early examples of the same composition.

and it still needs to progress a bit further, I think. 'm really not as pleased with it - there isn't enough dynamic space between the objects... they kind-of all mesh together into one mess of texture.
It's my lack of ability to hold a steady hand that's to blame for the loose wires. I don't really know how I could go and fix that. Hah. Remind me to never pursue a career that requires deft hands. I'd make a terrible surgeon. :c

Yeah, this would have been improved with either more negative space to the right or a third, distant pylon in the background to the left. I would assume there's no real way of changing the wires in this version, but what you could do in future is use string as guides? I d'know, I'm not sure on how these are processed.
You're too short to make a surgeon anyway, you'd need a stool just to get at patients; and given your track record with steps, that'd only ever end in disaster.

Ahaha. There actually is a third pylon in the distance. Perhaps if I tried scanning the piece in rather than photographing it, I could be able to bring that out a bit more. I'll have to wait 'til after the art show, though.
The string guide may work. Next time I'm in the printshop I'll give it a go.
If I fell in, I'd get lost. ):

I can see that but it's lost in the border. The perspective drop-off needs to be sharper, then. Pulling the first pylon in from the edge so it's equal with the space from the top edge would fix that.

I absolutely love this. Completed wishlisted. The different textures really create an ambiance. The mono color also adds to this dreary mood; fantasy within the mundane.
You did a fantastic job in the composition here; everything is broken up well. I love it.
Did I say that enough? I love it.
