Description
June 20108"x11.5" black foamboard,
Acrylic primer, transferred photograph.
Notes: I'm still experimenting with image transfers. This time, however, I held back a bit and didn't slather on more paint. I also didn't wait for the acrylic to dry before setting it. Not sure if it's made much a difference, though. Hah.
I desaturated this. Because I didn't use a photocopy of the image some purplish tones bled out. It doesn't look too bad in person, but on screen it was an intense assault of lavender. In a twisted way, the desaturated digital image is perceivably closer to the original than the unprocessed version. Strange how that works, eh?
The photograph was taken in February on a journey from Newcastle to London - I believe this is just before Doncaster Station.

I love the detail vs/the rough texture of the paint.

I know it does. Strange how it isn't an' all. :D
No, you're right. It is a bit more grey than the others. It's a little bit because it's desaturated and a little bit because I didn't paint over it. I have a few others from this specific set that I want to transfer the same way, but first I need to actually photocopy them instead of just printing them from an inkjet.

Inkjet printing is harsh... you should try transfers with acrylic medium and shit :>

I love all the textures here; I see a ghostship rising up through white flames...I can't wait to see more of your transfer experiments!
