Description
October 20088"x8" cotton canvas and
Atelier "Interactive" acrylic paint (black and white only).
Notes: Many thankyous to `arctoa for the title, which has been unapologetically pillaged from Opeth's Damnation album.
This is my addition to the N Vancouver's Anonymous Art Show , and hopefully will get there on time considering FedEx is apparently holding it hostage at present.

I like this a lot. I'd be curious to see a third painting that combines this concept with the blurry silhouette in the window...maybe a partial silhouette with the hand stretched out, but just part of the window as seen here.

Yes - it's interesting how the image is very subtle, yet rather oppressive at the same time. It lets the viewer's 'buttons' go off on their own

The way you've used such a limited palette and done so very much with it is astounding and marvelous!
The testure along with the subject of the piece have a somewhat reminiscent feeling which is captivating yet cold

They were pretty nice, actually. It's been a long while since I've used acrylics, though, so I can't really compare it to another brand. Hah. but the consistency was delicious.

This looks like part of a bigger picture, like you've imagined a whole scene and are painting it in sections to keep people in suspense. The texture (from the canvas?) is awesome. It makes me want to reach through my screen and touch the picture. I hope FedEx release it from captivity so that it gets to the art show in time

It looks fantastic. 'Windowpane' is a very fitting title.
The rough texture and the grey colouring remind me of how merciless winter can be.

an' no, just me scratching at it with my fingernails, hah. but it's interesting you mention that, 'cause if I had a bit more time I was planning on adding another layer and etching in words... never decided on which words, but yeah.
