Description
A map I made for a challenge on the Cartographers' Guild forums. Just a stand-alone map, no fleshed-out setting or anything (yet!). Made with watercolors, acrylics, Photoshop and G.Projector.This one is now available as a print from Society6!

This would be a cool setting for a book, movie or a game. I only hope it wouldn't be ''doomed'' to too many references.

Can I ask, how did you choose which nations would get in on the colonization game?
Like Russia would obviously lead the way, but why would they allow Britain, Turkey, Austria, or China access to Hell?

The geography is fantastic and so fitting for Hell. Very surreal and aggressive. I like it!

This one is really inspiring.
I've just begun to find the splendor of using G.Projector.

I think Russians were quite glad to finally have some warm place to be.

Like you have the world map, and then 'underneath' it is this map

Here comes the questions.
Is this an "inner Earth" where the surface is actually on the 'inside' part of a hollow sphere, or this is just a large cavern where down is still towards the core?
Okay, is there just 1 hole in the ground on the surface that leads to here? I guess everyone on the surface has to make nice to have access to the underground colonies like the Wormhole in Star Trek DS9.
If there is just one hole, where is it on this map?

I guess I imagined a huge cavern, normal physics applying. Sorta. There's probably just one hole, but perhaps more appeared after the first one, maybe the Russian drilling project in the eighties reached another part of Hell, I didn't think too much about this to be honest. Like I said, I haven't fleshed out the setting, it's just a painting. I appreciate the interest though
