Description "The Revenge."

--

This has to be the strangest case ever envisioned in the Godzilla Files. I swear to god, after this one, most of them will become more down to earth. So, how should I start it off?

“Imagine, a place feared by man the world over. A land of danger and terror…All within the mind…of a child… Travel to the Treacherous Monster Island!!!”

But let’s start with a little back-story.

In 1966, it was clear that Godzilla or the other monsters couldn’t be destroyed. That is when the JSDF came up with a brilliant idea. If they cannot destroy the Daikaiju, maybe they could contain them. They had this brilliant idea of choosing a deserted and uninhabited island and setting up barriers to keep the monsters there. The true genius was forming the barriers that would appeal to the monster’s instincts to force them to return to the island. The Japanese Prime Minister agreed to the project.

A remote island in the south pacific was the perfect choice for the Monster’s new home. The walls containing the barriers were set up in the bays around the island and underground facilities for human observations were set up. Soon the island was up and running for its new purpose as a Monster Prison. And as luck would have it, its first incarcerated monster was Godzilla. The Monster King was wondering onto the island looking for shelter. Then when he tried to leave, the gasses from the barrier towers were set off. Godzilla immediately returned to the island unable to leave. The barriers had worked and now Godzilla was trapped!!!

But other monsters wouldn’t be as easy to corral onto the island as he was. Another monster that had been quiet for 11 years had surfaced again. Angilas, somehow surviving his encounter with Godzilla in Osaka had been searching for food. The JSDF set up a large fishing trolley with a fully loaded catch of drugged fish was set up as bait. Once Angilas took the fish, he quickly fell asleep. He was taken to the island and couldn’t leave either. He as well as Godzilla weren’t pleased to see each other as inmates. However, they still weren’t able to kill each other. So they just kept to themselves. So far, everything was going good.

That is until something happened. The JSDF lost radio contact with the facility on the island. A large white fog completely covered the island. Godzilla and Angilas were unconscious. The last confirmed thing that we saw from the surveillance cameras showed that the two monsters were being bound down strong cables. UFOs began descending from the Atmosphere toward the island. They attempted to drill into the monster’s heads and place tiny devices into their brains. That’s when our cameras went dead. However, before long, the white fog lifted, and the spacecrafts retreated, fleeing from Godzilla’s atomic breath. Apparently the aliens that came to this planet had failed in their plans for Godzilla…But that didn’t mean they wouldn’t try again. But File D.A.M. remains closed until the appropriate time.

After this incident was over, Godzilla and Anguirus seemed to become closer. They began walking across the island together and had stopped fighting. We don’t know what happened in the white fog, but because of it, Godzilla and Anguirus had somehow become friends…one could say best friends. Now they both tried to find an escape from the island together. But it didn’t matter. The Project was a success. Now that the system was stable, the island was renamed Monster Island.

More monsters were captured and sent there, like Manda, Baragon, and Gorosaurus. New sonic waves were used for the barrier to keep Rodan on the island. None of them could get off the island…that is until one day. Examining Godzilla’s brainwaves snowed that he picked up on some sort of hypersonic frequency. He was determined to get off the island that day…and he did! It caused panic…The JSDF, knew they had to keep this under wraps. If word that Godzilla could escape the island ever got out, all of Japan would be in a fritz and the project would probably be scrapped.

However, it wasn’t long before Godzilla willingly returned to the island, probably due to his friendship with Angilas. But astonishingly, he had brought back something…a Little Godzilla. Unfortunately, the news of Godzilla’s Son had already reached Japan and the entire world from the scientific team of the Solgel Island project. News that Godzilla could escape terrified everyone. Monster Island’s only defense was the fact that Godzilla chose to return. So the project survived.

In the meantime, Godzilla had become a hero in the mind of a youth from Japan. A Japanese boy named Ichiro saw Godzilla as a symbol of strength and courage. However, no other person ever agreed with Ichiro, still seeing Godzilla as a destructive force of nature. This caused Ichiro to be a lonely child, with barely anyone to talk to. It was even worse since a gang of bullies beat up Ichiro on a daily basis. The leader of the gang was a mean kid that Ichiro nicknamed ‘Gabara’.

Because of his loneliness, Ichiro considered himself easy to connect with Godzilla’s son Minya who didn’t have any other child monsters to play with. The only real friend that he had was a Toymaker who lived next door to his house. He would occasionally have dinner with him on the many days where his parents were busy at work and couldn’t be home. It made Ichiro even lonelier without his parents, but at least he wasn’t fully alone. In fact, his neighbor gave him a job testing the new toys he made. And Ichiro suggested a computer game were the player could go to Monster Island and learn about all of the monsters that live there. It was quite interesting idea.

But this boy did have an extremely powerful imagination. However, while playing with a toy computer he made himself, he fell asleep and dreamt that he was on Monster Island…or so people claimed. You see, this boy’s love of monsters was known by Mothra. He was the key to her plan of getting the humans to love Godzilla. When the boy fell asleep, the Shobijin went to his house. He thought he was dreaming…but the Shobijin in fact teleported him to Monster Island.

They sent him on this adventure to see Godzilla’s new lifestyle as Minya’s father and perhaps the world would know that Godzilla had changed. Unfortunately, Mothra’s plan couldn’t have been executed at a worse time. The surviving Kamacura had bred and its two fully grown offspring went to Monster Island and attacked Godzilla. But luckily Godzilla managed to defeat the two younger ones allowing the adult to once again get away.

Ichiro was excited by the fight as he went around seeing all of the other monsters on the island. He managed to see Godzilla fight another old foe. The remaining members of the Red Bamboo had bred another Giant Condor and sent it on a mission to find Godzilla. When it did, Godzilla destroyed it in the same manner he had the first.

Ichiro didn’t know this at the time though. Unfortunately, Kamacuras, unable to leave the island began chasing him with the intent of eating him. Fortunately for Ichiro, the boy fell down a large hole in the ground. The giant mantis had left. But now Ichiro was stuck in the hole. That is until someone snaked a vine into the hole for Ichiro to climb out with. The boy was surprised when he saw who it was had saved him. It was Minya, Godzilla’s Son…and he was the same size as Ichiro!!! The boy was stunned that this had happened, but it was nothing to the shock of what came next. The little dinosaur spoke!!!

“Hey, c’mon over here!” he called.

Ichiro’s jaw dropped. It couldn’t be real…its how he rationalized that it was all a dream. But it was in fact, Mothra’s Godlike powers again. She had given Minya the ability to grow and shrink in size and to speak the tongues of man. She did this so that both children wouldn’t be lonely any more. Regardless, Ichiro was shocked.

“I won’t hurt you!” the young monster called nodding his head. “Don’t be afraid!”

Ichiro then moved toward the Son of Godzilla. The two got to talking with Minya curious to why Ichiro would come here and if his parents would be worried. Ichiro explained that his parents were rarely home and a little inattentive. Regardless, the two quickly bonded after another factor of Mothra’s meddling. Using her powers, she had taken Ichiro’s fear of the bullies from his mind and created a monster. The Monster Gabara! Mothra had been preparing for this event for years, feeding Gabara off of Ichiro’s fears in order to prepare Ichiro for his journey. At this time, Minya was quite afraid of Gabara and always ran and hid from a fight. The bond between the human and monster became stronger when Ichiro realized that they both had a Gabara for a bully. But luckily Gabara passed on.

However, the Shobijin realized that the toymaker was coming into Ichiro’s apartment to talk to him. Immediately they teleported him back to his house, lying on the floor asleep, before anyone realized he was gone. He was quite puzzled and upset to learn that his entire adventure had been a dream, and was even more distraught knowing that his mother was working all night and that he’d be alone. His only comfort came from trying to sleep and hopefully having his dream again…but it did no use. So he decided to go outside and play a bit.

In order to avoid the gang of bullies, he went into an old abandoned building. There he found a driver’s license that belonged to one of two thieves hiding in the building. When Ichiro left with the license, the two began following him to get it back. Mothra and the Shobijin were aware of this. The Fairies begged Mothra to intervene and stop the robbers from hurting the boy. But Mothra saw this as an opportunity to hopefully see if her lessons to Ichiro sunk in and her plan would work. But it meant that she had to teach Ichiro as fast as possible. But as luck would have it, when he got home and had dinner, he immediately fell asleep.

The Shobijin immediately sent him back to the island, but unfortunately, they dropped him on Gabara’s territory. He ran from Gabara as a personified way of running away from his fears of his human Gabara, the bully. But he could always feel Gabara behind him. But he did manage to get away once he got to Monster Island’s rocky shores. And there he found a friend.

Minya was eating the fruits that grew on the trees on the island while sitting on a rock. Minya was surprised to see his human friend back after he had just disappeared during their first encounter. But he was glad to have a friend again. But he was curious of why he would come back seeing as how his first reason for coming here was to meet Minya. But Ichiro claimed that he liked Monster Island and wanted to meet Godzilla. Minya claimed that he would introduce him if they could find Godzilla, who coincidentally was looking for Minya to teach him how to fight.

“Godzilla says that I should learn to fight my own battles now,” he said.

At that moment, Godzilla’s monstrous roar sounded in the distance as Godzilla appeared out of the jungle and walked toward the beach. The two walked towards him but it wasn’t a good time. The Red Bamboo had tracked down Godzilla and was getting ready to make their attack…ironically an old acquaintance of theirs had reappeared. Ebirah’s claws had grown again and he had made his way to Monster Island for a little payback against Godzilla.

With Minya and Ichiro cheering for Godzilla from the shore, Godzilla attacked the Sea Monster in a similar fashion to their first encounter. And in that fashion, the battle ended with Godzilla once again ripping Ebirah’s claws off and sending the Giant Lobster swimming away. Godzilla roared in triumph as well as his two spectators. Godzilla returned to the shore and saw Minya. He nudged his son to follow as he went into the jungle. Mothra really didn’t pick a good day to showcase Godzilla’s gentler nature, for he had just fought three of his old enemies, and defeated them in the exact same fashion, and now he was about to fight the fourth.

Kumonga, the mate of Espiga had also followed Godzilla to Monster Island. She was looking for some payback against Godzilla for killing her mate. Godzilla threw a rock at her and flipped her over. He bent down to see if she was dead and got stung in the eye by her stinger, conspicuously like the last fight. Minya was upset that Godzilla had gotten hurt like that and tried to help his father by puffing a smoke ring at the spider. But all it did was draw Kumonga’s attention and she began spitting her webs at the young monster. He and Ichiro quickly hid in the jungle while Godzilla finished off the giant spider.

The two boys celebrated Godzilla’s victory. It seems that while Mothra’s message of Godzilla’s gentleness failed, Ichiro’s admiration of Godzilla’s Power and Strength increased. Perhaps her plan would work after all. Now that Godzilla had taken care of his old enemies, it was time to put the rest of her plan into action. A bloodcurdling growl let the two boys know that Gabara was there. The giant monster walked toward the two boys and spotted them. Ichiro urged Minya to run away with him, but Minya knew that if he ran Godzilla would be disappointed in him. It was time for Minya to stand up for himself.

Growing back to his original size, Minya tried to attack with his fire rings. However, they did little to nothing to Gabara. Minya then tried a physical attack, charging toward Gabara only to be put down. When he got back up, Gabara pushed him down again. It was clear that there was no contest, especially since Gabara was twice Minya’s size. Then Gabara picked the young monster up and swung him around and kicked him away. Minya shrunk back to Ichiro’s scale and ran away with him.

Ichiro was terrified seeing how the Monster Gabara was clearly much stronger than his own. But then again, he was scaled to be Minya’s bully. Godzilla however was proud that Minya did stand up for himself was still disappointed that Minya ran away when the going got tough…But he had his own problems to deal with. The last of the Red Bamboo’s military force flew in their jets to try and destroy Godzilla. We knew it had to be the Red Bamboo, because no one would authorize an air strike on Godzilla while on Monster Island. But Godzilla did destroy them. As far as we know, the last of the Red Bamboo had been wiped out.

Minya and Ichiro’s celebration was cut short when Godzilla spotted him. He called toward Minya to come forward…it was time for his lesson.

“Nuh-uh! No dad, I don’t wanna!” he said before finally relenting. “Okay.”

As Minya walked forward and grew to his original size, Ichiro realized that he was right about Godzilla. He was capable of thinking and he was teaching Minya just how his father taught him at times. It was a grand spectacle watching Godzilla teach Minya how to breath fire, resulting in Godzilla having to step on Minya’s tail, a crucial bit of knowledge that would help Ichiro later. It was terrific. However, Ichiro was suddenly grabbed by one of the carnivorous plants that littered Monster Island. The Shobijin were alerted to this and immediately sent Ichiro home…unfortunately, he returned at the moment the Robbers broke into his apartment.

They kidnapped Ichiro and took him to the abandoned building. It seemed hopeless for him to escape on his own. He was scared. The Shobijin begged Mothra to help him. But Mothra knew that this was for the boy’s own good. Although she did manage to distract the thief who was watching him, keep him focused on his whiskey for enough time for her finally lesson to be learned. Ichiro immediately called out for Minya and he quickly fell asleep.

The Shobijin sent him to the island, on top of a cliff with a perfect view of Minya getting his ass kicked by Gabara. Then Gabara grabbed Minya’s head as his horns glowed a purplish color. An electrical surge shot down his spines and through his hands and electrocuted Minya. He punched the little Godzilla in the face and knocked him out. Ichiro called for Minya to wake up but the monster made no movement. But then the boy noticed a boulder was positioned at the right angle. He pushed it over the edge of the cliff and it dropped on Minya’s tail. The baby Godzilla immediately woke up and spat a breath of fire into Gabara’s face.

Once that happened, Minya easily avoided Gabara until Godzilla showed up. However while Minya tried to retreat behind Godzilla, the Monster King forced his son back into the battle. He wasn’t going to let Minya quit this time. Minya reluctantly walked back into the battle. All it accomplished was Gabara continuing to push him around. Godzilla finally intervened when he saw Gabara’s power of electrocuting Minya. While Gabara focused on Godzilla, it allowed Minya to bite him. Gabara didn’t like that. He threw Minya away and chased after him when Minya ran away.

But Ichiro called out to Minya having an idea to beat Gabara. Minya immediately shrunk down to Ichiro’s size and climbed up the mountain. The plan was that eventually, Gabara would step on a large tree. At which point, Minya would jump on the other end and send Gabara flying. Gabara eventually did and Minya jumped sending Gabara flying. Crashing to the ground, Gabara seemed like he couldn’t even get up.

Godzilla was proud of his son for doing something so smart to pin Gabara down. He patted Minya on the shoulders and congratulated him. However, the celebration ended when Gabara sat up and bit down on not Minya but Godzilla’s leg! Roaring with sudden surprise, Godzilla punched Gabara’s face until he let go. But Gabara quickly got back up again, clearly showing that he was looking for a fight with the King.

The battle was fairly simple. Gabara went in with wild attacks and Godzilla threw him to the ground. Every time Gabara got back up Godzilla would just put him down again. But Gabara was fast and pretty strong as well. He was indeed giving Godzilla a bit of trouble. But Godzilla was indeed not going to give up. When Minya tried to run into the fight to help, a quick pull back from Godzilla clearly stated that this was the Adult’s fight.

Gabara was getting frustrated with Godzilla tossing him about so easily. His horns were glowing again. He got up and grabbed Godzilla’s sides, sending the electrical surge through Godzilla’s body. This was the true genius behind Mothra’s Monster. She not only took what Ichiro was afraid of, but what Godzilla was afraid of as well…Electricity. Being Godzilla’s weakness, it would be clear that Gabara would be more difficult to fight. However, this was what Godzilla had been training for. He was clearly more lightning resilient. A quick attack from Godzilla stopped Gabara’s attack. Godzilla then grabbed Gabara’s arm and in a remarkable feat of strength, he flipped Gabara completely over his shoulder.

When Gabara crashed to the ground he had taken a serious beating. And seeing Godzilla’s strength to completely toss him into the air like that, Gabara knew he stood no chance. He ran away. Ichiro cheered for Minya and Godzilla and booed Gabara! Then Minya walked back toward Ichiro to celebrate with Godzilla following. Godzilla then spotted the boy and curiously tried to grab him. Mothra knew that her message had been sent and quickly returned Ichiro back to Japan before Godzilla had inadvertently hurt him.

The robbers had stolen the Toymaker’s car and were planning to take Ichiro as a hostage. But Ichiro decided that it was time to stop being afraid as he remembered the words of Minya.

“Godzilla says we have to fight our own battles and not be cowards.”

He broke through his binds and ran back into the abandoned building, biting one of the Robber’s wrists like how Minya bit Gabara. He set up various traps to throw the Robbers off his trail. While he was dodging them on the inside, the Toymaker on his nightly stroll stumbled across his stolen car and the stolen money inside. He immediately called the police.
Ichiro was then cornered by one of the Thieves. The man pulled a knife on the boy. Ichiro could see Gabara’s maddened eyes behind the Robber’s sunglasses. He picked up a fire extinguisher and sprayed the Robber similar to how Minya breathed his atomic fire on Gabara. Ichiro then ran outside right when the police arrived. The robbers were caught and Ichiro was returned home.

The next day, while being interviewed about the kidnapping, Ichiro explained to the reporters that he wasn’t afraid because of Minya. He talked about Godzilla teaching Minya how to be brave and Godzilla being strong and fearsome as well as kind and gentle. This greatly began to change the public’s opinion about Godzilla.
On his way to school, Ichiro finally stood up to the bullies and fought Gabara in a one-on-one match. He beat the bully into submission proving that he wasn’t afraid of the bullies anymore.

Mothra’s plan really had worked. Not only was Ichiro brave enough to stand up for himself now but he really had changed the public’s opinion of Godzilla. Even if he wasn’t truly on the island as some skeptics believed, if Godzilla could inspire a child to be brave, then maybe the monster wasn’t as bad after all. Children took a liking to Godzilla, seeing him as their new Superman. Yes, Japan and the world would now be a different place with Godzilla protecting it.

A final note you may ask is, why is this file called ‘Godzilla’s Revenge’? You might think that possibly it should be called ‘Godzilla; Revenge of the Monsters,’ since the invaders came to the island to get back at Godzilla for their defeats. But in fact, Godzilla was getting his retribution against them. Ebirah pissed him off, and Kamacuras, Espiga and Gabara attacked his son. Godzilla did indeed get Revenge on whoever tried to attack him. Now the question was asked, “Who Dares to Oppose Godzilla?!”

And whether or not you believe Ichiro was on the island is up to you. But know this, later on in the year 2004, Godzilla’s son proved to have the ability to alter his size. And other reports have flooded my desk about an unknown monster on a deserted island who fits Ichiro’s description of Gabara.

Thank you…see you Tomorrow.

Sorry guys. I forgot to blot out the Minya sprite so you guys wouldn't see it, but I didn't forget this time. But it's obvious who the monster is so it doesn't really matter does it.

But this I gotta say. This is the Tenth Godzilla Movie ever made, and I made this a month ago on October 10 of 2010.

The 10th on 10-10-10! Can you believe that?! I swear to God!!!

Regardless...this one was pretty hard to explain since some people believed it didn't happen. So I had to go to the one Kaiju and two little people who could do something like this, Mothra and the Shobijin. Sue me or Suck Me, I don't care. The movie is terrible, but it's one of my favorites if not my absolute favorite. It's the only Godzilla movie where I ever said that. So Enjoy.

Godzilla's Revenge copyrighted Toho.
