Giant Monsters All Out Attack--
The year is 2001. Godzilla has been gone for about a year. Admiral Taizo Tachibana of the JSDF was preparing discussing the subject to others. He talked about how even though Godzilla was gone, several sightings of Godzilla-like creatures have occurred all over the world. Starting with the 1998 Attack that the Americans claimed was ‘Godzilla’. However, soon the JSDF received word that a US Nuclear Submarine has been destroyed. An anti-nuclear submarine, Satsuma, is sent to investigate the area. What they found in the area was startling; the wreckage of the ship’s hull had several claw marks in it. But they found saw something else; Godzilla’s dorsal spikes, slowly moving away.
The admiral’s daughter, Yuri was filming a documentary at Mt. Myoko, in Niigata where several earthquakes had been occurring. There was a legend that the mountain was a gateway to the spirit world and there was supposedly a monster up in the mountains. Later that night, a reckless motorcycle gang went around destroying symbolic statues in the area. When they drove underneath a tunnel, another earthquake occurred and the roar of a large animal was heard. They were buried alive inside the tunnel. A truck driver who was right behind the gang while it happened saw the face of a large reptilian creature appear out of the side of the tunnel.
While investigating what was happening, Yuri’s adviser turns her onto a book written by Professor Hirotoshi Isayama. The book describes a prophesy about recent events were beginning to unfold and how three creatures would be possessed by Ancient Spirits and awaken as legendary beasts known as Guardian Monsters. The drawings of the creatures resembled Baragon and Mothra…but the third, It didn’t seem possible what the Third Guardian Monster was.
That night, a band of teenagers were partying on Lake Ikeda. They were being very rowdy and they disturb a statue similar to the one the bikers destroyed. When they were about to go out on the lake, a large creature appeared out of the water. The teenagers were found the next morning, all were cocooned it what appeared to be Moth Silk. It seemed like Mothra was responsible. But there was nothing sacred to the Elias in the area. So why would Mothra attack? Miki Saegusa saw the report and used her telepathy to ask the Shobijin if Mothra was involved. She couldn’t have been as she had already spun her cocoon and lost her spinneret’s. Though the Shobijin then explained that the Exoskeleton of Mothra’s Lost Twin Brother had disappeared from the Infant Island Graveyard. It was strange.
Yuri investigated this Isayama and found him being held at a police station. She recognized him; he had been watching them film back at Mt. Myoko. He told her a legend that Godzilla would arise from the Underworld and that the Demon had grown strong again from the angry souls of the Japanese who were lost in WWII. They are angry because Japan has forgotten them. He tells her that the only thing that can stop him is the Guardian Monsters. She tells him to go to the place where the third monster lay dormant. She didn’t know if she believed him. The mention of the third creature’s name brought out skepticism. (A name that I am purposefully withholding) But she went to the shrine where the creature was supposed to be. It was somewhere near Mt. Fuji. She found a strange rock there.
A few days later a Police Station is destroyed when a monster described as a ‘Red Godzilla’ appears and breaks Iyasama out of prison. As most people know Godzilla is not red, and the creature was too small to be Godzilla. It was Baragon, who was looking for Godzilla. The creature had changed since the events of 1999. It was slightly larger, its skin tougher, its claws were bigger and his horn was glowing orange instead of yellow. The most noticeable feature is that its skin was now a deep red like crimson. It was looking for Godzilla…and he’d soon find him.
Godzilla appeared out of Yaizu Harbor and began his assault on Tokyo. I had been monitoring Baragon at the time. But when I heard Godzilla was back, I had my agents in the area give me the feed. It definitely looked like Godzilla but something was a bit off. His elongated spikes were shorter and were white instead of silver and purple. His skin was dark black again, his tail was shorter, and his body was a bit slimmer. His snout was a bit longer, like a crocodiles…and his eyes….oh his eyes. They were both completely pale white, no pupils whatsoever. I wasn’t sure how it was possible, but this wasn’t the same Godzilla that I had been studying for the past half a century.
But it did cause destruction as Godzilla was. But it was strange. As I zoomed in on Godzilla’s face it looked like the monster was smiling; he was enjoying it. Now I remembered that Godzilla had shown emotions in the past, but he was never truly selective of his victims nor did he show any sort of enjoyment in destroying a city. Usually the only emotion he showed was either anger of fear. Regardless, it went up to the mountains where Baragon was barreling through the Hakone Spa, near Mt. Fuji. It also seemed to be in the area that the great final battle against Ghidrah occurred. Baragon had been heading towards Godzilla and went up that way to head him off. When they appeared in front of each other, Baragon stood on his hind legs. But even at full height, he wasn’t even half Godzilla’s size.
He quickly burrowed under the ground. Godzilla looked around, unable to understand where he opponent went to. Suddenly the ground he was on caved in and he fell down. Baragon then appeared out of the side of the cliff above Godzilla. When the monster got up, Baragon jumped on him, biting his left arm. But Godzilla swung his arm and threw the burrowing dinosaur away. While the fight was happening, there was no longer any doubt in Yuri’s mind that the legends were true. But Baragon didn’t stand a chance. Godzilla stomped his foot on Baragon’s head and kicked him. Baragon was down and out unable to escape from Godzilla’s feet and tail. He tried desperately to climb up the cliff and after a while he made it.
But instead of escaping, Baragon turned around and roared at Godzilla, getting his attention. He jumped at him, but Godzilla ducked and hit Baragon with his tail. Baragon tried to get away again by climbing up the side of the rocks. But Godzilla found him and came up from behind. Godzilla’s spikes began to glow that familiar blue color – which also perplexed me. Then it unleashed a blast of atomic fire. But it was more powerful than any I had seen from the blue color. Baragon fell off the cliff and landed at the base bellow, unable to get up. He looked up just in enough time to see Godzilla unleash the blast, finishing him off. Baragon went up in flames, completely dissipating. He was gone.
Meanwhile, underneath Mt. Fuji, Iyasama was underneath the mountain. There was a layer of ice underneath, preserving the body of the third Guardian Monster. However the ceremonial statue that was near the beast fell over, cracking the ice. The creature inside was waking up. But Godzilla was definitely powerful, maybe more powerful than ever. So what was going to be done about it?
Meanwhile, back at the lake, a huge cocoon had been formed. Mothra was there, yet she was still on Infant Island. The Shobijin took human forms went to Japan to see what was happening. Godzilla was working around Mt. Fuji to get back to Tokyo. The JSDF tried to engage him, but as always, they did absolutely nothing to him. When Godzilla made it to the city he caused the usual amount of damage. However, suddenly the Mothra began to hatch out of the cocoon. It was a lot different than the regular Mothra. It was surprisingly sleeker and streamlined. Its wings were plated with armor. Speaking of wings, when it first spread them, they were transparent until the color spread across, similar how Armor Mothra Leo’s were when he metamorphosed. The most notable of this new Mothra creature was its eyes; instead of the usual blue, they were purple.
The Shobijin watched the new Mothra take off toward Godzilla. They were positive that somehow, it was Mothra’s Twin Brother, brought back to life. They felt that this male Mothra was possessed by a mystical force. What’s worse, the Shobijin sensed something else; this new presence was something that they hoped they’d never sense again. The JSDF detected a third Monster that appeared from Mt. Fuji. Iyasama watched as the icy tomb broke apart, releasing the third and final guardian monster…it just didn’t seem possible.
Mothra attacked Godzilla, shooting poison barbs from the end of its body. Mothra never had this ability before. Godzilla attacked the insect but it was too fast for him. The huge moth flew around him moving almost as fast as Rodan could move. However, eventually Mothra went down, unable to hold back Godzilla’s Atomic Heat Ray. However, suddenly a light appeared from Mt. Fuji and the third Guardian Monster appeared. However, the sight of it made people tremble in fear more than they had from the sight of Godzilla. The Third Guardian Monster was Ghidrah!!! It was Ghidrah’s body, showing the scars of battle damage from where it had been hurt from the Battle of ’99. You’d think it would’ve decayed by now, but when it fell under the Earth, a huge underwater lagoon was disturbed and Ghidrah’s body fell into it. The water froze over, preserving the huge monster’s body until it was needed. Now Ghidrah’s body served as a vessel for the final Guardian Monster’s soul. However, its wings were still curled against its side, not being strong enough yet.
However, it was brilliant. Ghidrah seemed to be the only monster that could defeat Godzilla at this point. But interestingly, Godzilla had not reacted with any familiarity between Baragon and Mothra – he didn’t recognize them at all. Now, he saw Ghidrah, his mortal enemy that he had killed two years prior – alive! And he didn’t react to it at all…It was quite possible that Godzilla lost his memory again, but I maintained that this creature wasn’t Godzilla. The two monsters teamed up and attacked Godzilla.
However, Ghidrah’s body hadn’t been active in a while and wasn’t used to moving around yet. Godzilla eventually over powered the creature. He shot at Ghidrah with his atomic ray, but Mothra blocked the shots; it was incredible, Mothra and Ghidrah were once old enemies, and now they were protecting each other. The military attacked Godzilla, temporarily distracting him from the other monsters. He charged up for his Atomic Ray with the intent of wiping out the final navy ship that Admiral Tachibana was on. That’s when Mothra flew in from behind. Instead of attacking them, Godzilla turned around and destroyed Mothra instead, her body dissipating just as Baragon’s had. However, Mothra’s energy went over to Ghidrah, waking him up. A massive light shined from Ghidrah and his two wings spread out far, now strong enough to fly. Ghidrah stood up and leapt into the air, shining with a yellow glow. He became Shining Ghidorah!
The flying three headed dragon flew towards Godzilla, a ball of energy surrounding him. Godzilla tried to blast him, but the energy shielded him. Ghidrah then shot the ball of energy towards Godzilla. The impact knocked Godzilla into the water. The huge reptile resurfaced; however, the blast knocked away a portion of his armor on the side of his neck. For the first time, Godzilla had exposed flesh. Ghidrah attacked him from the air, diving into the water next to him. Ghidrah’s electricity under the water really affected Godzilla. Meanwhile, the Admiral got an idea to fire a Drilling Missile into the wound on Godzilla. He would pilot the Satsuma close to Godzilla and shoot it.
Godzilla and Ghidrah fought to the death, but Godzilla overpowered him. Ghidrah sank to the bottom, unconscious. However, when Yuri fell into the water, she dropped the stone she found near his shrine. The stone was an amulet that gave him power. He rescued Yuri and got him back onto land. Then, Ghidrah attacked Godzilla with everything he had, his body glowing again. Ghidrah began shooting his lightning towards Godzilla. However instead of weakening him, Godzilla absorbed the electricity through his spikes and unleashed a blast powerful enough to completely wipe out Ghidrah’s body. The last remnants of the Three Headed Monster were wiped out. Then suddenly out of the burning carcass of the monster appeared the spirits of Baragon, Mothra, and Ghidrah. They went into Godzilla’s body; he absorbed them!!! Perhaps Godzilla really was a soul sucking demon. And now, he had the powers of three other monsters. Nothing could stop him.
However, during the struggle under the water, the Admiral pulled a daring move. He piloted the Satsuma into Godzilla’s body. He piloted the sub through Godzilla’s internal systems until he came to the area where the wounded flesh was. He fired the D-03 Drilling Missile into the wound. It drilled through the skin before exploding. Up on the surface, Godzilla was about to use his atomic breath to kill Yuri and her assistant. However, the Atomic Blast failed and the beam shot out of the wound on his shoulder. Godzilla tried again, but the same results happened. Godzilla fell underwater again. The Admiral piloted the Satsuma out of the behemoth’s body through the shoulder wound. He saw Godzilla charging up for a third blast. But suddenly Godzilla’s body exploded. Tachibana was alright. He emerged from the Satsuma completely unharmed. However, he didn’t want to be approached for fear of the Radiation. He said that he couldn’t have done it without the Guardian Monsters. The battle was over…but no, it wasn’t.
Underneath the ocean where Godzilla went down, several fish were swimming around his scattered body cells. They scattered when something started moving again. It was Godzilla’s Heart; it was beating. Godzilla’s heart was still alive. Then around it, Godzilla’s body began to regenerate. He was a Godzilla after all. By the time they got the Admiral to safety to have him Decontaminated, Godzilla resurfaced! He was back!!! Since that showed that nothing could stop Godzilla and the Guardian Monsters were no longer allowed to help…then what could be done?! What could stop him now?!
Suddenly, there was the sound of a loud sonic boom and a light in the distance. There was a massive earthquake that shook Tokyo and quite possibly all of Japan. Then when the Earth shifted a familiar monstrous roar called out. I watched the feed with wide eyes as Godzilla appeared out of the ground! There were two Godzillas in the area!!! The one that came out of the ground had to have been the one that was sucked into the Black Hole, he’d gotten free! Godzilla was back!!!
It was an epic confrontation; the two Godzillas attacked each other. It was unknown who would win. I was relieved to have confirmed that the monster that had fought the Guardian Monsters wasn’t the true Godzilla. It was some sort of Demon that took the form of Godzilla. It seemed to be just as powerful as our Godzilla. However, after the battle clearly led to a standstill, both creature’s charged up their atomic blasts. The two colors of orange and blue collided in what perhaps was the most powerful Atomic Discharge was ever seen by mankind. Both Atomic Rays seemed to be equally matched. There were moments one would over power the other, but eventually, the Evil Godzilla’s ray began overpowering the real Godzilla’s. The blast was almost to Godzilla’s mouth.
But suddenly, the souls of the Guardian Monsters broke free from the evil Godzilla. They began to weaken the Demon’s powers. Then they flew towards Godzilla and went into the spikes on his back. Red lightning arched from his spines and Godzilla’s blast of fire doubled in size, easily overpowering the Dark Demon’s. The blast completely wiped out the Demonic Godzilla; absolutely nothing was left. His entire body was exterminated; nothing could’ve survived and nothing could’ve regenerated. The souls of the Japanese were freed from the corpse and finally decided to rest. The Guardian Monsters souls were permanently freed as well.
They now believed that with a monster like Godzilla around, their time of need would never come again. They decided to sacrifice their energy to restore the life force of Baragon, who had done them great service. They thanked Baragon for his help and they also thanked Godzilla for saving the planet. The spirits then completely vanished. Godzilla and Baragon then went back to Monster Land and were greeted by some very relieved friends.
The whole country was relieved yet worried at the same time. Godzilla was back and saved them from an evil counterpart, but Godzilla was still back. But now was a time for celebration. One note that I’d like to mention is that Yuri’s News Station wanted to do a special exclusive honoring what she’d done. They also wanted to talk to Professor Iyasama and ask him to do the interview. However, one of the men at the station had done some research and said that Iyasama died in the original Godzilla attack in ’54; he was over seventy years old at the time. If that was true, then who was the old man they were talking to? They didn’t know, but even more mysteriously, he had disappeared from the footage they had of him.
I noticed something about Godzilla. After he unleashed all of his power into that attack, his skin had turned black again. I also saw that his atomic breath was now blue once more. I concluded that using that attack used a great deal of energy, taking away his super powers. Godzilla would soon return for more energy. When the Japanese realized that Godzilla was weakened, the JSDF knew that this would have to be the time to attack. They knew that G-Force had a certain item in their possession. And they had just the right item to repair it with.
Next Time – Godzilla returns to Japan in more ways then one. Also, an old enemy gets rebuilt once more to do battle with the King of the Monsters, but what happens when that enemy believes that he is the King of the Monsters?!
Stay tuned, we’re almost done.

I'm surprised you didn't go with the anguirus and varan thing. This is still cool though, anguirus and varan in GMK is kind of overplayed in fan stuff these days.

As elaborated in the artists description, I mostly did this as a way of explaining what happened to Ghidrah's body after the events of Destroy All Monsters - to better distinguish the difference between Shining Ghidorah - the Guardian Monster - and the actual King of Terror presented in this series.
