“Megalon.”--
Tests of Nuclear bombs in the islands of the Pacific Ocean were a common occurrence. No one ever suspected a terror of this magnitude would befall the entire world. The island of the second Nuclear Test completely blew up. The power of the weapon was truly devastating; leaving what was left of the island in a red fog. However the impact that the bomb left didn’t stop there.
The red fog spread all the way to Monster Island in the South Pacific. The red fumes had a great affect on the monsters, suffocating them, driving them mad. The explosions of the bomb caused great tremors that reached all the way to Monster Island. The humans in the Control Room quickly evacuated the facility and made it to the helicopters. They didn’t have a chance to deactivate the barriers. They just decided to let the monsters rot. However, the first tremor took the towers down.
The Monsters could sense that something was wrong. The red fog was driving them out of their territories. If they stayed on the island they would die. Luckily the monsters had a leader to guide them to safety; Godzilla. Aided by Anguirus, and Rodan, Godzilla led the monsters in the escape. Godzilla led Minya out first and had the others follow him out into the bay. Godzilla and Anguirus stayed back making sure that each of the monsters got out all right. However, before Godzilla and Anguirus escaped, another tremor created a fissure that split the island in two.
While Rodan led the monsters out, Godzilla and Anguirus had to make their way to another part of the island to escape. However, while Godzilla tried to lead his best friend to safety, the greatest tremor erupted onto the island and split the fissure even greater. The two monsters quickened pace, but Anguirus still fell behind. Before Godzilla even knew what had happened, all he heard was his best friend’s shriek of terror as Anguirus fell into the fissure. Godzilla turned around to help, but it was too late…Anguirus was gone. After all this time of looking out for each other, keeping the other monsters in check and saving the world…and after they had worked as a team to help the other monsters…Anguirus was the first casualty of the destruction of Monster Island. But Godzilla would ensure that he would be the only casualty as his best friend died along with Monster Island. He managed to escape…but he refused to rendezvous with the other monsters…it was a time for mourning.
The humans escaping in their helicopters watched as the island split apart and sank into the sea, similar to the final fate of Skull Island. The red fog completely consumed the last of the island as Anguirus’s final roar echoed. The barriers were destroyed…the project failed…Monster Island was gone.
Unbeknownst to the world, these Nuclear Tests were the final straw. Buried deep under the sea, in a strange freak of nature, the Kingdom of Seatopia lived in an underwater world. They had developed a strange sort of technology far more advanced than that of the people of the surface. They were peaceful…to an extent. Living quietly underneath the earth since the evolution of man began. However, that peace was about to end. The testing of nuclear bombs had wiped out a third of their already shrinking country. NO MORE!!! Seatopia was preparing to strike back…and they had a dark secret weapon they were preparing to awaken. You see…their technology was reverse engineered from studying their monster god.
Goro Ibuki, an expert in robot technology was enjoying the day at a lake with his kid brother Rokuro and their friend Hiroshi Jinkawa. Rokuro was testing Goro’s new invention on the lake. Suddenly, a whirlpool opens in the lake and Rokuro was forced to be pulled ashore. The lake was completely drained revealing a large fissure underneath. The three left the lake, unable to fathom why this had happened.
Upon returning home, they learned that their house had been broken into. Two intruders stormed out toward their getaway car. Though Hiroshi tried to pursue them, he was unsuccessful. The inside was really messed up, but nothing was stolen. However, there was some red sand leftover. The sand was the same strange color as a button found by Hiroshi that the two intruders seemed to purposefully leave in his hand. They should’ve suspected that this was no mere coincidence, because the material from the button made for the perfect substance for Goro to put the finishing touches on his robot Jet Jaguar.
The day that Jet Jaguar’s construction is completed, the intruders return. One kidnaps Goro and Rokuro, while the other controls Jet Jaguar from their house, holding Hiroshi hostage. The two intruders were from Seatopia and were planning to use Jet Jaguar as a beacon to lead their monster god into the cities. Then they would reverse engineer more robots by studying Jet Jaguar and making their own army. It wasn’t long before the leader of Seatopia awakened Megalon and set him loose on the surface, rising out of the drained lake.
Jet Jaguar led Megalon to the cities where the monster let loose and destroyed everything. Tanks, jet planes, even laser cannons could not stop it. It was clear that Megalon was as indestructible as any other giant monster. Goro and Rokuro were placed in the back of a metal container on a truck to be delivered to an entrance point to Seatopia. However, Hiroshi managed to escape his captor and attempt to rescue his friends. The men driving the truck threw the agent responsible for the delivery of Goro and his brother out and decided to dump the container into the dam. However, Megalon suddenly appeared and flung the container into a nearby field. Luckily the two inside weren’t hurt.
Goro was upset that his own robot was being used in a plot to destroy mankind. Since the military’s weapons were ineffective, it seemed that nothing could stop it. But Rokuro had a plan to stop the monster. If only they had control of Jet Jaguar to go and find Godzilla and lead him back to Japan to stop Megalon. But maybe they could regain control of Jet Jaguar. Goro had built a voice-command controller that overrides the manual computer at his house. But they just needed to be in range. Appealing the idea to the military, it was agreed that Godzilla would be the best choice to stop the monster…They brought Goro up into one of their military choppers to intercept Jet Jaguar. Sure enough, whatever commands Goro spoke into the microphone, Jet Jaguar followed.
“Get Godzilla,” he said. “You’ll find him on Monster Island!”
Jet Jaguar began flying away. The Seatopian agent at Goro’s house could read all of Jet Jaguar’s directives. Communicating back to the Seatopian leader, the news of Godzilla’s interference was quite disturbing. However, they had a plan B, should Godzilla get involved. You see, Megalon is essentially a large beetle-like cockroach with mechanical drills on his hands…A cyborg, made with technology from Space Hunter Nebula M. Reverse engineering all of their technology from Megalon’s Nebulan machinery allowed them to hold contact with the Space Cockroaches…They bargained with the Nebulans and made a striking deal; Once mankind is wiped out, the Nebulans could rule the Earth’s surface. All the Seatopians needed was the assistance of the one monster that was known to actually do Godzilla harm. They were met with a reply which spelled certain doom for mankind.
“We are sending you the monster Gigan as requested.”
Jet Jaguar continued flying until he met with the wreckage of Monster Island. The island’s once large center mountain now served as a tiny spit of land. And Godzilla was standing on it. He was kneeling rather sadly on the last remains of the island he considered his home. He was clearly still mourning the loss of Anguirus. However, Godzilla turned away when he noticed Jet Jaguar’s presence.
The tiny robot landed on the island. He then used a combination of various sounds and hand gestures. Goro had designed this function as a visual Mores Code. And luckily, Godzilla could understand it. He managed to make out that there was a monster attacking Japan. He figured that a good fight would get his mind off of the loss of Anguirus, so he took up the task and followed Jet Jaguar back to civilization.
Goro and Hiroshi had just taken out the Seatopian who was controlling Jet Jaguar at Goro’s house. Jet Jaguar had led Godzilla, but knowing that the mutant dinosaur knew the way on his own, he quickened his pace back to the house. He then began to show clear signs of independence, even giving his creator a ‘thumbs up.’ And when the robot no longer responded to the controller’s signal, it was clear that Jet Jaguar had gone into survival mode.
He flew out toward the wild Megalon near the lake. Then, the robot did something that was nothing short of Impossible. Jet Jaguar grew from his 6 foot stature to match Megalon’s size of 400 feet tall!!! All who saw this were astounded as the giant robot began to fight Megalon. Goro figured that Jet Jaguar must’ve reprogrammed himself to increase his size. The logic behind it was that Jet Jaguar was nobly trying to stall Megalon until Godzilla arrived.
However, the tables soon turned when Gigan appeared from behind the clouds and attacked Jet Jaguar. After showing clear communication between themselves and of course being cut from the same stone as it would be, Gigan and Megalon made quick allies, like old friends who hadn’t seen each other for years. And teaming up on the single Jet Jaguar, the two were clearly a deadly team. They made an actual game of tossing Jet Jaguar around like a ball. It was clear that Jet Jaguar was doomed.
But then Godzilla showed up. The mere sight of him made Gigan retreat in fear. Godzilla froze upon seeing Gigan. As he slowly inched over to Jet Jaguar, he held his hand up to his forehead and felt the scar Gigan’s claws had left. After helping his robotic Teammate to his feet, Godzilla charged. He attacked such ferocity, taking on both of them at once. Once Gigan was down, he practically beat Megalon to death with a tree. However, Gigan got a sneak attack in on Godzilla. Jet Jaguar finally joined in to help and proved to be a skilled fighter.
However, Megalon trapped both monsters in a ring of fire and barreled his Napalms at the pair of heroes. However, when Gigan and Megalon were confident that they had the two trapped, Jet Jaguar flew the Monster King out allowing him to unleash his fiery retribution on the Cyborgs. As the sun began to rise, it was clear who the victors would be. Godzilla trampled over Megalon like he was nothing. Jet Jaguar broke Gigan’s arm. Then throwing Gigan into the air, Godzilla blasted him with his breath, in shining retribution for the scars on Anguirus’s face. Gigan then retreated, flying back into space.
Godzilla then gave a great idea to Jet Jaguar on how to deal with Megalon. The robot pulled the giant bug to his feet. Godzilla rushed towards them and leapt into the air. Balancing on his tail, Godzilla’s feet crashed into Megalon’s chest. Then, Godzilla backed up and did it again. Once Jet Jaguar dropped Megalon to the ground, Godzilla did what would become one of his signature moves. Godzilla grabbed Megalon by his tail and lifted him off of the ground by his tail and slammed him into the ground.
After it was over, Megalon ran for the lake and retreated. Knowing when they were beaten the Seatopians closed off the exit points. It would seem that they would be eventually wiped out. But hopefully the scientists of the world would stop with the Nuclear Weapons. Godzilla then thanked Jet Jaguar for his help. It really helped vent out his rage for the loss of Anguirus. So far, Jet Jaguar has not ever returned to battle giant monsters. For he know lives quietly, being Goro and his friends body guard.
Godzilla went back to sea, trying to find the island where the Monsters went. Monster Island might’ve been destroyed. But the JSDF could not deny that it was a complete success…and it could all be redone. However, that story will have to come later, for once again from beyond the stars, a new threat stared at earth with evil eyes. If a cyborg could not defeat Godzilla…then maybe a complete machine could…and maybe, when it came to Godzilla, it was time for the aliens to fight fire with fire.

why do the developers of the godzilla video games think its necessary to put megalon in as a character before anyone else? he was one of the few characters in destroy all monsters melee, and there was plenty of better monsters to use, like gorosaurus, or even varan. i just dont see the value in megalon. hes weird.
