Description
Anyone who has played the Mass Effect games know who this is. I'm still debating adding her scars, since she doesn't look entirely right without them to me.[link] This is also on tumblr! Please reblog that instead of making new posts with the art in.

Yes, a young Shepard, about to step into the galaxy.Β I love it.Β You could maybe keep this one, then alter it, make it darker portraying her future self, scars and all. Maybe call it portraits in time?Β I love the determination in her eyes.

I've wanted to do a companion piece like the one you're describing.Β In my mind I was thinking of it as the difference between paragon and renegade, though.Β I mean, she certainly looked harrowed as the renegade scars develop on her face.Β
Seeing Shepard after going through all the stuff she went through would have been interesting, to be sure.Β Β Something happens to the look in people's eyes after they've seen too much.Β I may take your suggestion, it was great!

The armour suggests it'sΒ post-ME1,Β pre-ME3. So maybe the youngish look is just a longer-term side-benefit of 'leet cybernetics :d

I so have to play this game somewhen. I still never got the chance. ^^'
Ha but I finally took some time to sit down and comment our pretty art. It's waiting oh so long in my box :/Β
Wonderfully done. Love the way you drew the spacesuit. It looks so... real and sturdy. LOVE the colors especially in the hair and eyes. The little details like the scratches on the shoulder piece are great and it really lifts her off the more blurry background. I think it get's a wonderful illusion of depth this way.Β
Love her expression as well. She looks like a none nonsense person here but there is a hint of mischief as well. So lovely.Β

I agree, I played it through multiple times as both sexes, female just seems... right. (Maybe it's the voiceover?)

Or lip, or both :d But your use of ME3 armour suggests you'd have that glowy orange stuff down the cheeks and across the brow D:

This is very beautiful! There's no hero like Commander Shepard... I personally like Shepard without scars, maybe you could make a "renegade" version of this and then both of them would be available for audience to see? I would love to get this portrait on my wall!

Linnpuzzle In reply to Sara-Roth [2013-05-09 19:08:20 +0000 UTC]
I think I could do that. Renegade Shepard would have to have a more red-tinted background sky, as well as her glowy eyes and scars. --I really like your idea now.

yeah, I always try to play renegade enough that her scars are visible but not distracting. Also it's fun to be ruthless.
